Melissa Rost

Vice President of Risk Management

Melissa brings more than three decades of nursing experience dedicated to serving the aging population across a variety of settings, including rehabilitation, long-term care, hospice, critical care, assisted living, and memory care. Her academic path began with pursuing a bachelor’s in psychology at Kent State University before she pursued her nursing degree at Marymount School of Nursing.

Melissa joined Atlas Senior Living in 2018 as Wellness Director in Savannah, Georgia, and quickly advanced to lead the clinical department as Executive Vice President of Clinical Compliance. In this role, she served as a key member of the executive leadership team, guiding organizational strategy and ensuring the highest standards of clinical compliance and resident care. This role prepared her for her transition to Vice President of Risk Management.

Driven by a passion for lifelong learning and empowerment, Melissa is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT), equipping others to deliver exceptional care. For Melissa, working with elders is not just a career but a calling—one that allows her to honor and give back to those who have given so much. Originally from Ohio, Melissa has lived across the United States alongside her husband, Scott, during his active-duty military service. Married since 1994, they are proud parents of two daughters and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. In her free time, Melissa is an avid college football fan, loves traveling, spoiling her French Bulldog, and cherishes time with family. Melissa’s mission is simple yet profound: to ensure every senior feels important, valued, and supported in living their best life.

“As a nurse, we have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and body of our patients. They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
