Atlas Senior Living Program Provides Meaningful Memory Care Services
Atlas Senior Living’s SPIRIT Memory Care program provides compassionate memory care that celebrates the lives of residents and uses their stories to help write their next chapter of life. It’s our goal to help your loved one embrace their individual journey, celebrating the smallest successes and making them feel comfortable in a safe environment.
Why Should I Consider Atlas’ SPIRIT Program for My Loved One?
A dementia or Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis can make your loved one feel that they have been robbed of their story, and can take a major emotional toll on the family members providing daily care. Offering an inviting and modern environment, individualized care plans, and a committed and caring team, the SPIRIT program can help seniors battling cognitive decline live a fulfilling life.
What Are Our Foundations for Daily Success?
The SPIRIT program centers each resident’s unique treatment on six foundations for daily success:
Foundation | Description |
Strength | Our team members take a detailed approach to engage the current strengths and abilities of each resident, promoting independence in all daily activities. |
Purpose | To involve residents, we ask them for help with preparing the activities they enjoy. |
Identity | Our residents’ family members provide detailed information to develop a comprehensive history book to be kept in the apartment home. Other residents, family, friends, and associates can help write the next chapters, adding new experiences to the resident’s life story. |
Rediscover | We help residents rediscover the joys of the smallest successes, celebrating any work they complete or attempt. |
Invigorate | We start each day with a smile, play upbeat music, and use aromas as a way to reach the senses. |
Tailor | With programming unique to each resident, our person-centered approach celebrates each individual resident’s enthusiasm and excitement for past interests. |
What Are the Benefits of Socialization for Memory Care Residents?
Recent research has shown that as little as ten minutes a day of social interaction can substantially improve the lives of people who have dementia. The SPIRIT program strives to create as much interaction as possible, featuring a calendar of social activities that is based around our seniors’ interests and needs. Residents can socialize while eating their meals together, and our intimate neighborhoods encourage tight-knit groups that allow residents to connect and relate to one another.
What is the SPIRIT Program’s Approach to Memory Care?
The SPIRIT Program strives to be holistic in its approach to connecting residents to activities that will benefit them mentally, physically, and socially.
We engage our residents with activities like:
- Arts programs that stimulate the brain and increase confidence and well-being
- Brain games like word searches, puzzles, and trivia
- Community outings to places like local restaurants or movie theaters
- Exercise and wellness activities to boost mood
Our curriculum is paired with medical expertise and supervision; many of our communities offer a licensed nurse on-site 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
What Are the Education Requirements For Our Team Members?
At Atlas Senior Living, we believe that the support of a knowledgeable team is key to your loved one’s success. Our SPIRIT program associates receive online training through the Alzheimer’s Association in addition to individual certifications that build their knowledge of quality dementia care practices.
Atlas Senior Living manages 26 communities and has a proven track record of providing services like independent living, memory care, and assisted living. We’re ready to help your loved one.
