Catch Us If You Can!

Assited Living and Residents in Spirit Gardens (Memory Care), have been enjoying fun outings and we will continue to do so through the last part of the year. If you want to ensure your loved one gets to the outings, please feel free to reach out the Lifestyle Director.
Outings in assisted living facilities are crucial for residents’ overall well-being, offering both mental and physical benefits, as well as opportunities for socialization and a sense of independence. These activities help combat social isolation, stimulate cognitive function, and improve mood and physical health.
By providing residents with opportunities for social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation, assisted living facilities can significantly enhance their overall quality of life.
Scottish Heart
Alexa, play "Stuck in the middle with you" by "Stealers Wheel"
“Stuck in the Middle with You” (1972) by the Scottish band Stealers Wheel is a clever blend of folk-rock and soft rock, marked by its catchy melody and satirical lyrics about the absurdities of the music industry, an instant classic.
Its legacy was reignited when Quentin Tarantino featured it in his opera prima Reservoir Dogs (1992), using it to soundtrack one of cinema’s most infamous—and unsettling—scenes, sealed the song’s place in pop culture forever.
Business Of The Month : The Corner Shop
We love to have encouragement and support from other companies and organization. These next two months we will be highlighting The Corner Shop. Tucked away in the historical Marietta Square, the store sells variety of souvenir items representing England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland – from keychains to doormats, from pet accessories to teapots. Owned by a native, their goal is to continue to keep the culture rich in the US.
Our residents have visited and were welcomed with such joy and warmth. We had questions answered as well as fun trivia too.
Note from the author: “My hope is that by opening The Corner Shop, I will be able to live my American Dream and at the same time bring some of “home” to others. I hope you enjoy the shop as much as I do!” – Tina Barnes

Welcome to Scotland
Around the World with Atlas
Scotland: The Land Beyond the Wall
When the Roman Empire pushed north into Britannia, it met fierce tribes the legions could never conquer. To mark the limit of their reach, the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall, and further north, the Antonine Wall — yet beyond lay the untamed lands we now call Scotland.
By the 8th century, Scotland began to take shape as a kingdom, often in conflict with its southern neighbor, England. Centuries of wars, heroes like William Wallace, and an enduring sense of independence defined its story. In 1707, Scotland formally united with England, creating Great Britain, which later grew into the United Kingdom alongside Ireland.
Still today, Scotland remains proudly distinct — with its Gaelic roots, tartans, castles, and legendary landscapes reminding the world of a culture that was never fully subdued.

Welcome Spirit Gardens (Memory Care)

It’s all in a name. Our community has the privilege of having a Memory Care center addition. It is important to ensure the dignity of each resident and with that, we will be rephrasing our verbiage to be Spirit Gardens vs simply Memory Care. The Spirit Program has been around for many years and this is a great time to move further with the name change. Naturally there are benefits and below can give a brief synopsis.
1) It establishes a strong brand identity: The name becomes a key part of your brand, conveying your values, mission, and the unique benefits you offer.
2) It will create a positive emotional connection: A name that evokes feelings of comfort, safety, peace, and dignity can resonate deeply with families facing difficult decisions and notions on about memory care.
Dementia Connection Group

It is so important to create the sense of community. Our stories can all seem so different, but there are so many similarities that allow caregivers to cope and be a bit more prepared.
A dementia care support group provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.
We have a licensed Dementia Specialist along with our Lifestyle Director who will host the environment that can change the way caregivers are facing the new stages in the loved ones care.

Resident of the Month
LeAnn Paratto
This month we highlight LeAnn. She has been part of our Assisted Living Community since 2021. She is a best friend to so many care staff and residents because she is full of personality. She highlights that her best friend is Mike, as they both have been part of the community for years. She always can provide a laugh and encouragement.
LeAnn was born in North Carolina, however, grew up in Georgia. Prior to moving to the community LeAnn earned her bachelor’s degree in Statistics and she held the title Senior Software Engineer. She is also a mom of 20-year-old Ryan and 14-year-old Lilliana.
LeAnn takes part in so many of our activities from outings to music guests, competing in trivia, to facilitating and being a guest of our weekly Bible Study group.
When we think of a resident to represent who we are, LeAnn is that.
One piece of philosophy on life that has kept LeAnn is the reminder that “You are your thought!” This reminder is key to having a positive attitude amid life circumstances.
Her favorite song that could be anthem would be “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten.
Spending any time with LeAnn you will feel the positive energy she carries. The entire Legacy Ridge Marietta community agrees and congratulates our very own LeAnn as Resident of the Month.
