From France with Love
Alexa, play Trois Gymnopédies, by ISAN.
Composed in 1888, Erik Satie’s Trois Gymnopédies are quiet masterpieces of simplicity and emotion. Their slow, graceful melodies were revolutionary for their time, creating a dreamy atmosphere that still feels modern today. A beautiful contemporary take comes from 2006 UK duo ISAN, whose gentle electronic version adds a warm, modern glow while honoring Satie’s timeless mood.
Tai Chi Seniors
Tai chi for seniors is a gentle, low-impact exercise that can improve balance, strength, and flexibility, leading to a reduced risk of falls. Benefits also include improved mobility, blood circulation, sleep, and cognitive function, and it may help lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety and depression.
We are happy to have our first class this month!
Welcome to France
Around the World with Atlas
France is a country built on centuries of history, artistry, and revolutionary ideas. From ancient Gaul and the rise of the Frankish kingdoms to the birth of the modern French state, its story is one of transformation. The foundations of France took shape through the coronation of Clovis in the 5th century, the brilliance of Charlemagne’s empire, and the evolution of a nation that would eventually stand at the center of European culture and politics. Over time, France became known not only for its kings and cathedrals but for a spirit of curiosity and change that shaped the world.
French culture has left an indelible mark across the arts, philosophy, cuisine, literature, and fashion. From the Enlightenment thinkers who reimagined human rights to the painters who transformed visual expression — Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Degas — France has long been a beacon for creativity. Its influence extends into cinema, music, architecture, and the culinary traditions cherished worldwide, from buttery croissants to slow-cooked Coq au Vin. Every corner of French life carries a sense of refinement balanced with a deep appreciation for pleasure, beauty, and daily rituals.
To explore France is to step into a living tapestry of medieval villages, grand boulevards, vineyards, seaside cliffs, and cafés where time seems to slow down. It is a country that invites discovery — whether through the echo of cathedral bells, the quiet glow of a museum hall, or the simple joy of strolling along the Seine. France welcomes visitors not just to see its landmarks but to feel its spirit: a blend of elegance, history, and poetic charm that has captivated the world for centuries.
Fall -La- La- La- La
To help reduce fall risk in seniors, it’s important to both make the home environment safer and focus on personal health and fitness. Safety measures include removing clutter and loose rugs, improving lighting, and installing handrails and grab bars. Personal health strategies involve regular exercise to improve strength and balance, having eyes and ears checked, and reviewing medications with a doctor.
Our community will be hosting an informative event along side Fox Therapy on Dec 16th / 3:00pm-4:00pm. Join Us!
Scam Likely for Seniors
Common scams targeting seniors include tech support fraud, grandparent scams, and Medicare/health insurance fraud. These schemes often rely on impersonation and pressure to get money, but can be avoided by being skeptical of unsolicited offers, verifying information with a trusted person, and never sending money or giving remote access to your computer to unknown parties. Seniors are often targeted because they may have savings, and scammers exploit their trusting nature and social isolation.
We are looking forward to having Cobb Community Officers present a training and important tips going into the holidays.
Adopt a Grandparent
This year we started the Adopt a Grandparent project. This is a great way for the holiday season spirit of cheer shared with all. Staff and even local community organizations have taken on one amazing resident to give token gifts to the month of December.
The elderly are a vulnerable group within our society who, at times, is taken for granted. This might lead to solitude, confusion, a general feeling of no longer belonging within a community.
This is a great way to spread Legacy Love. If you are interested, please reach out our Lifestyles Director, Devon Gunn for more information.

Resident of the Month
Earl Donaldson
It is with great pride we announce Earl Donaldson as our resident of the month. He has been part of the community close to a year and always brings his great smile, style, swag and even chivalry everywhere he goes! He participates in every activity from going dancing at the Senior Center, enjoying a good meal outing, playing his clarinet for the residents, or just joining our scheduled events.
Mr. Earl is a retired health / PE teacher. He also took time as a football, track, and basketball coach. You can always find him in his track suits and sneakers down the halls. He is also an Army Veteran and participates in our monthly Veterans Club.
When we think of residents to highlight, Mr. Earl is the definition of it at our community. We look forward to more days of singing and smiling as we congratulate our very own Earl.
Associate of the Month

This month we recognize Pamela Barnes. She has been with Legacy Ridge for just a short time but has surely brought her style and personality to the residents. She has been part of the industry for over 10 years and has a servant’s hearts.
Her immediate goal is to be a Med Tech and would love that job for a day at Legacy Ridge. She holds that goal and remembers her proudest moment is becoming a Dementia Specialist.
You can find Pam dancing at the sound of some good music, giving ideas to bring more engagement with residents and more than anything else, have fun with the residents.
