Mini Therapy Horse Visits Pooler Seniors and Steals the Show

POOLER, GA — Little Miss Savannah trotted into Legacy at Savannah Quarters and immediately became the most popular visitor of the week.

The miniature therapy horse from Fuzzy Therapy Miniature Horses, Inc. spent the day getting scratched, petted, and hugged by residents who couldn’t get enough of her. The community’s residents lined up to stroke her mane, rub behind her ears, and tell her how pretty she looked.

The pint-sized horse stood patiently while residents took turns giving her attention. Some talked to her while they petted her coat. Others stood quietly beside her, just happy to be close to a horse again. Little Miss Savannah seemed to understand her job perfectly—stand still, look adorable, accept all the love.

“We had residents coming out who usually skip activities, but they heard a horse was visiting and showed up,” said Sherri Long, Sales and Marketing Director at Legacy at Savannah Quarters. “You could see folks really light up when they got their turn with her. Some hadn’t been around horses in decades, and here they were, right back at it like no time had passed.”
