Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes – Kīlauea and Mauna Loa – and is a designated International Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Executive Director Corner
Happy August Everyone!
We hope you are enjoying this last full month of summer while also staying cool!
Please make sure to check out our August Activities Calendar for all the fun events we have going on!
More information on our Fall Family Festival that will be held in late September is yet to come.
We will be adding a suggestion box to our dining room near where the daily calendar is listed. We hope that this will help us continue to fulfill all your dietary requests.
Other than that, please pray for me as my daughter embarks on her first year at Georgia Southern!
As always, my door is always open should you need anything at all.

Resident of the Month
Ramesh Hazariwala
Our August Resident of the Month is Mr. Ramesh Hazariwala! Originally from India, Ramesh came to the US to obtain his degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Not only does he have an MS and an MBA, but he also was awarded the 1993/1994 World Who is Who award for his professional work. Ramesh grew up in a family of 9 children, where he was the second to oldest child. Ramesh married his wife, Ranjula, while they still lived in India, and she followed him to America 9 months after he moved here. Ramesh is a proud father of two daughters, Sonal who is a neurologist, and Amita who works in internal medicine. In his free time, Ramesh enjoys watching biblical movies, attending musicals, and traveling. His best piece of advice is “listen not to reply but listen to follow up”. We are soi thankful to have this wise and fun-loving gentleman as a part of our Legacy Ridge family!

Associate of the Month
Jennifer Alvarez
Jennifer Alvarez has been part of our Legacy Family for only a few short months, but she has been such an asset to our team that we have awarded her as August Employee of the Month! After much deliberation on her career, Jennifer decided to pursue work as a CNA due to her great love of helping others. Jennifer was born and raised in Atlanta, but she is of Mexican descent and cherishes her heritage. Every Sunday her family gathers for a family meal usually featuring homemade tamales or tacos al pastor. Jennifer has one son, Isaac, and is also looking forward to her wedding day to her fiancé, Julio. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys shopping and baking. Jennifer is also proud to share that she is attending Southern Crecent University to receive her associate’s degree in business management. She dreams of becoming an Executive Director of an Assisted Living community one day and she greatly looks up to our own ED, Nathalie, as a role model. We are so thankful to have Jennifer as part of our family. It is not only her work ethic, but her passion and heart for helping our residents that shine through!
