Associate of the Month
Kierra Turner
This month we highlight one of the our Dining staff, Chef Kierra. Kierra has been with Legacy Ridge Marietta for almost a year and has brought amazing meals every weekend she is in the kitchen. She has been in the industry for about twelve years. Being part of this community, you will always find Kierra with a smile and willing to help even under pressure.
She does all things with excellence. She mentions that one of her biggest accomplishments and proud moments is graduating with her degree in Culinary Arts. She is a Chef to us, but she is also a mother of three children who she makes proud with every feat accomplished.
Her future endeavors are owning her own food truck or eatery location.
When speaking with her, she noted her favorite part of going to work is hearing the stories of the residents. Since she loves interacting with them, being in activities would be a department she would certainly do for a day.
We are honored to have her and for this reason celebrate our Associate of the Month! Congrats Kierra.
Jazz Masterpieces
Alexa play "Take Five" from "Dave Brubeck Quartet"
From the 1959 Album, Time Out, this groundbreaking tune in 5/4 time became the best-selling jazz single ever. Its unusual rhythm and catchy piano riff helped jazz cross over into mainstream popularity.

Rock & Roll
Hall of Fame
Alexa play "All Shook Up" from "Elvis Presley"
From the 1957 album, Loving You, a #1 hit and cultural flashpoint, this song sealed Elvis’s reign as the king of rock & roll. Its upbeat rhythm and playful lyrics defined the youth culture of the 1950s.

Dementia Community Connections Group Launch 2025
As a mixed commuinty we have residents that fall in different levels of care. Regardless of their level, as an at home caregiver, there are always things to take care of and make sure you are up to date on. There are paperwork or even deadlines. There is always something that comes up and the one thing that is a fact is that everyone is going through something even if it isn’t the same thing.
We are pleased to launch our Support Group that will have its first gathering July 20th with expert Julius Chege. We invite you to come to support each other. We all have a story and it is important to learn from the experiences we have yet to have. “These groups offer a safe space to share experiences, learn coping strategies, and reduce feelings of isolation, ultimately improving the quality of life of the caregiver.” Quote from wehelpcaregivers.com
Welcome to the United States of America
Around the World with Atlas

From towering skyscraper cities to serene national parks, from the sounds of jazz and rhythm & blues to the electrifying pulse of rock & roll, the U.S. radiates a restless energy that has left a lasting cultural impact around the globe.
More than a global superpower in terms of industrial influence and technological innovation, the United States is also a leading force in the arts and cultural development. It has played a central role in shaping the modern world as we know it. The rise of Silicon Valley and the culture surrounding today’s tech giants is the result of a long legacy of American ingenuity and creative drive.

Healthy Mind
According to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), sleep deprivation can put you at greater long-term risk of physical and mental health problems, including reduced attention span, worsened memory, and mood changes. Memories and newly learned skills move to more permanent regions of the brain while you sleep. This makes them easier to recall.
Many people find listening to or playing music enjoyable, but that’s not the only benefit — it also improves memory function in older adults, according to a 2019 study in the journal Frontiers in Psychology. Finding your favorite tunes or learning to read or play music is easier than ever thanks to versatile platforms and technology. Information from aplaceformom.com
