Volunteer Opportunities
We’re always looking for volunteers to come in to lead activities, help set up for events, do one on ones with residents, or simply helping organize around the community. Community Events
This month we have events that will be fun for the whole family! On July 4th we will be hosting a fireworks display complete with a smores bar right after dinner at 6pm. Following that, on July 13th we will have a family fun afternoon carnival complete with games and classic carnival food from 1pm – 3pm. Our last event for the month will be a Mary Kay sponsored Mom and Me pampering session on July 27th from 1:30pm – 3pm, come relax with us while we enjoy some self care!

Resident of the Month
John "Al" Martin Jr.
Al came to Legacy Ridge at Marietta in January 2024 and has been a source for laughter and smiles amongst our residents and staff. He is a major UGA fan, having gone to UGA for his bachelor’s degree in business. Al likes is steadily involved in our workout classes and bingo and loves to talk about fishing with anyone who will listen. If Al isn’t at activities or lounging in his room, you can find him walking around the community chatting away.

Recipe Spotlight:
Grilled Grouper with Mango Salsa Recipe
Ingredients:
2 mangos, diced into 1/2” pieces
2 jalapeño, seeded and minced
1/2 red onion, diced into 4” pieces
1/8 cup fresh cilantro, minced
1 tsp lime zest
2 oz fresh lime juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
Sea salt, to taste
8 grouper or red snapper fillets
Avocado oil
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Combine all the salsa ingredients. Cover, and refrigerate.
Brush both sides of the fish with oil and season with salt and pepper.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°) and make sure your grates are clean or the fish will stick.
Cook fish with lid closed for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or just until fish begins to flake and is opaque in the center.
Serve with mango salsa.
Associate of the Month
Ashley Rubino
Ashley Rubino is Legacy Ridge at Marietta’s Associate of the Month for July 2024! Ashley was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was part of the service industry for 15 years before deciding to take CNA courses, since her graduation in 2022 Ashley has been working in care. Her favorite part of being in the Atlas Family is building relationships with our residents. Outside of work, Ashley loves to spend her time cooking!
