Associate of the Month

Dwayne Hines

Our spotlight employee for the month of July is Dwayne Hines. Born February 7th, 1970, Dwayne and his wife Sheila have 6 wonderful children that they both love and adore. He joined the United States Marine Corp when he was 16 years old and has served many tours overseas during his tenure. Dwayne retired from the Military and started working in maintenance. His hard work and dedication never go unnoticed by staff, family members, residents, or guests. Let’s not forget that he gives the BEST HUGS. Everyone who comes into the Prado loves a hug from Dwayne including all the sweet babies of the Prado family. We love you Dwayne!

If you want to see the vast beauty of the Everglades and more alligators than you can count, then Shark Valley should be your #1 stop! Shark Valley is in the heart of the Everglades freshwater marsh. It boasts a rich array of wildlife, including abundant alligators, wading birds, turtles, and various other species like herons, egrets, and ibises.

Meet Madison "Maddie"

Meet Maddie! Maddie is our community therapy dog and has been a wonderful added asset to the team. When you walk into the community you can bet you will be greeted by her happy, wagging tail. She loves to spend her free time cuddling with the residents and stealing treats from Doug and resident Eddings smith’s son, Jim Smith!

Standards

Standards are finally over! Atlas Senior Living does an annual audit of each community. This year our clinical team scored a 99, and the remaining departments scored a collective 90! How awesome is that?!

Recipe Spotlight

Grilled Grouper with Mango Salsa Recipe

Ingredients:
2 mangos, diced into 1/2” pieces
2 jalapeño, seeded and minced
1/2 red onion, diced into 4” pieces
1/8 cup fresh cilantro, minced
1 tsp lime zest
2 oz fresh lime juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
Sea salt, to taste
8 grouper or red snapper fillets
Avocado oil
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
Combine all the salsa ingredients. Cover, and refrigerate.
Brush both sides of the fish with oil and season with salt and pepper.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°) and make sure your grates are clean or the fish will stick.
Cook fish with lid closed for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or just until fish begins to flake and is opaque in the center.
Serve with mango salsa.

Resident of the Month

Phillip Toole

Phillip Toole Resident of the Month

Our spotlight resident for the month of July is Phillip Toole. Mr. Toole was born on August 2,1951, to Frank and Ethel Toole. Phillip attended Redding Middle and Dudley Hughes High School. He was married to the late Diane Toole for 31 years. They lived in Lizella and Macon, GA. Phillip doesn’t have any kids of his own, however, he is truly a loving and caring uncle. Mr. Toole worked for the State of Georgia for 15 years. He enjoyed working on old vehicles and built his own VW Beetle, which is still driving good! Phillip also enjoys fishing and hunting. A sweet piece of gum will surely make Phillip’s day.

Nancy enjoys bingo, painting and walking around the community with the other residents. She loves to talk about her life history and how she taught Sunday school in Woodstock, GA. Mrs. Nancy enjoys doing her daily crafts and exercise. Thank you, Mrs. Nancy, for being a part of the Prado family!
