Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Scotland
“Or, a lion rampant Gules armed and langued Azure within a double tressure flory counter-flory of the second”, meaning a red lion with blue tongue and claws on a yellow field and surrounded by a red double royal tressure flory counter-flory device.
A timeless symbol of unity, the Tudor Rose combines the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York—emblems of rival houses during the Wars of the Roses. When Henry VII united the two through marriage, this floral symbol became a lasting emblem of peace and the English crown.
Associate of the Month
Hunter Anderson (Med Tech)

This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Hunter Anderson, one of our incredible Medication Aides and Caregivers at Wildcat Senior Living!
Hunter is 21 years old and a lifelong resident of the Charleston area. Raised in Bonneau, Macedonia, and St. Stephen, he’s a true Lowcountry local with a heart for service and a deep love for family, nature, and helping others. In his free time, Hunter enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling, playing video games—and most of all, catching up on sleep! He is engaged to a wonderful fiancé, and together they share their home with two beloved cats, Tux and Officer Hopps.
Family is the heart of Hunter’s world. He is one of 12 siblings—Katie, Madison, Trey, Tyler, Bentley, Sydney, Tanner, Nikolai, Dawson, Giovanni, Emmalyn, and Noelle—and plays an active role in helping raise his beautiful niece, Brynnleigh Aniston.
Hunter’s passion for caregiving began early, inspired by his father, a longtime volunteer firefighter. After a serious accident sidelined his father’s service, the two returned to volunteer work together with the Alvin Rural Volunteer Fire Department. That experience ignited Hunter’s desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives.
Traveling with his family was a big part of his childhood. Whether camping in state parks, staying in mountain cabins, or bunking in hotels during winter trips to Tennessee, Hunter cherished those memories—especially because they were spent with his siblings. (And yes—he once ate a cheddar-and-bacon flavored cricket on a camping trip!)
His journey into senior care became even more personal when his grandfather was diagnosed with both Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Helping his family navigate the challenges of his grandfather’s health sparked Hunter’s determination to learn more and do more. His time at Wildcat Senior Living has deepened that knowledge. “I’ve learned so much from my coworkers here,” he says, “and I apply those lessons at home every day.”
Hunter recently earned his Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification and hopes to continue his education, with plans to pursue both a nursing degree and paramedic certification. “I’ve enjoyed running medical calls with the fire department,” he shares. “One day, I’d love to make it my career.”
Hunter, your dedication, compassion, and drive to serve others make you an invaluable part of our Wildcat family. Congratulations on being our Employee Spotlight for September 2025—we’re proud to have you on the team!
Scottish Heart
Alexa play "The Mandolin Man and his secret" from "Donovan"

Appearing on Donovan’s 1967 double album A Gift from a Flower to a Garden fused psychedelic folk with childlike wonder, marking him as a true Scottish poet-storyteller.
The Mandolin Man and His Secret a whimsical tale wrapped in folk mysticism, where Donovan’s gentle voice dances with the strings and a lonely harmonica, conjuring a timeless dream-tale.
Exploring the Spirit of Scotland!
This September, Wildcat Senior Living will continue our Around the World with Atlas journey with an exciting adventure to the enchanting land of Scotland! Known for its misty Highlands, ancient castles, rich traditions, and warm hospitality, Scotland will inspire a month full of cultural discovery, learning, and celebration.
Throughout the month, residents will embark on armchair travel experiences that take them from the historic streets of Edinburgh to the mysterious waters of Loch Ness. We’ll explore Scotland’s fascinating folklore, legendary tales, and iconic landmarks, all brought to life through engaging trivia games, themed crafts, and storytelling sessions. Creative projects will celebrate Scotland’s heritage, featuring tartan patterns, Celtic designs, and symbols drawn from the Highlands’ stunning natural beauty.
Music will play an important role in our Scottish celebration, as traditional tunes—like the soulful sounds of bagpipes and lively folk melodies—fill the air throughout the community. We will also pay tribute to Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, with special poetry readings and reflections on his timeless works and influence on Scottish culture.
The month’s festivities will culminate in a memorable Friends and Family Night called “Ceilidh at the Castle.” Guests can look forward to enjoying a Scottish-inspired menu featuring rustic comfort foods, hearty stews, savory pastries, and traditional sweet treats that reflect the flavors of the Highlands. The evening will be filled with lively music and a warm sense of community.
Scotland is sure to bring a rich, joyful, and unforgettable experience to Wildcat Senior Living this September. We can’t wait to share this cultural journey with our residents, families, and friends as we continue our Around the World with Atlas adventures!

Welcome to Scotland
Around the World with Atlas
Scotland: The Land Beyond the Wall
When the Roman Empire pushed north into Britannia, it met fierce tribes the legions could never conquer. To mark the limit of their reach, the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall, and further north, the Antonine Wall — yet beyond lay the untamed lands we now call Scotland.
By the 8th century, Scotland began to take shape as a kingdom, often in conflict with its southern neighbor, England. Centuries of wars, heroes like William Wallace, and an enduring sense of independence defined its story. In 1707, Scotland formally united with England, creating Great Britain, which later grew into the United Kingdom alongside Ireland.
Still today, Scotland remains proudly distinct — with its Gaelic roots, tartans, castles, and legendary landscapes reminding the world of a culture that was never fully subdued.

Sip-n-Paint with Renee Powell: A Creative Journey to England and Beyond!
Wildcat Senior Living recently hosted a delightful Sip-n-Paint event led by traveling artist and creator Renee Powell, perfectly tying into our Around the World with Atlas England adventure this month. Residents enjoyed an afternoon of creativity, camaraderie, and refreshments as they painted charming portraits inspired by classic English elegance.
Participants chose between painting a classic English lady wearing a stylish hat, reflecting the grace and tradition of England, or a relaxing Carolina Coast scene featuring palm trees—perfect for those wanting to capture a touch of local coastal beauty. Renee guided everyone step-by-step, encouraging personal touches that made each piece unique and meaningful.
The event was a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with one another and express their artistic talents while celebrating the themes of our ongoing cultural journey. Laughter, conversation, and colorful creativity filled the room as glasses were raised and brushes danced across canvases.
Sip-n-Paint with Renee Powell was a vibrant addition to our England-themed programming, blending art, social fun, and cultural appreciation into one memorable afternoon. We look forward to hosting more creative experiences like this as we continue to explore the world together at Wildcat Senior Living!
August Recap: A Grand Adventure to England!
As part of our beloved Around the World with Atlas series, Wildcat Senior Living traveled across the pond this August to explore the rich history, vibrant culture, and timeless traditions of England—and the experience was nothing short of smashing!
Throughout the month, residents enjoyed a variety of engaging activities inspired by all things British. We journeyed through England’s iconic landscapes and landmarks during armchair travel sessions, tested our knowledge with lively pub-style trivia, and relaxed with screenings of classic British films. Our afternoon tea socials—with their perfectly steeped tea, finger sandwiches, and homemade scones—quickly became a resident favorite. Creative spirits soared during craft sessions inspired by English gardens, royal emblems, and more.
The crown jewel of the month was our Friends and Family Night celebration, “A British Invasion.” Residents and their loved ones gathered for an unforgettable evening of music, food, and fun. We paid tribute to legendary English music icons—The Beatles, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones—with tunes that got everyone tapping their toes and singing along.
Our culinary team served up a royal feast that included coronation coleslaw, bacon butty sandwiches, potted shrimp with toast, chicken tikka masala with basmati rice and naan, golden fish and chips, cottage pie, roasted Brussels sprouts, and for dessert, classic summer pudding and a beautifully layered Victoria sponge cake.
It was an evening—and a month—filled with flavor, laughter, and unforgettable memories. If you missed the festivities, no worries—summer isn’t over yet, and our Around the World with Atlas adventure continues in September with more cultural exploration and community celebration ahead!

Wildcat Senior Living Visits the Summerville Farmers Market
This month, Wildcat Senior Living residents embarked on a spirited outing to the Summerville Farmers Market, embracing the local culture despite the intense South Carolina summer heat. Determined to beat the heat, our group set out early in the morning to enjoy the market before temperatures climbed too high.
The day was very warm, but spirits stayed high as residents strolled through colorful stalls filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, homemade baked goods, artisanal crafts, and local specialties. Many took time to chat with the farmers and artisans, learning the stories behind their products while supporting small local businesses.
This trip was about more than just shopping—it was a lively chance to connect with the community and enjoy the vibrant energy of Summerville’s market scene. Some residents picked up fresh ingredients to inspire new recipes, while others simply soaked in the sights and sounds of the bustling market.
Thanks to the early start, everyone was able to make the most of this refreshing outing. At Wildcat Senior Living, we’re proud to offer experiences that keep our residents engaged with the world around them, no matter the weather. We look forward to more adventures that celebrate the spirit and warmth of our community!

Resident of the Month
Amory Wade

This month, we’re delighted to feature Amory Wade, a beloved resident of Wildcat Senior Living’s Memory Care community, as our September Resident Spotlight.
Amory’s life has been filled with adventure, intellect, creativity, and compassion. A proud military dependent, she grew up with a strong sense of purpose and resilience. Her father served as a soldier, farmer, and real estate agent, while her mother was an artist, avid gardener, and dedicated Red Cross volunteer—traits that clearly influenced Amory’s own lifelong love of nature, art, and service.
A true scholar, Amory holds a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and Radford University, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Virginia. She attended Osborne High School and went on to become a teacher, children’s outreach supervisor, and a lifelong learner herself. Her dedication to helping others extended beyond the classroom—Amory has also served as a volunteer, certified hypnotist, and Reiki master, bringing peace and healing to many.
Her favorite pastimes reflect her gentle and loving spirit. She enjoys gardening, reading, listening to music, attending church, shopping, and having lunch with friends. She loves makeup—especially lipstick—and is rarely seen without it!
Animals have always held a special place in Amory’s heart. She had a cherished yellow lab named Georgia and has loved many dogs and cats throughout her life. Her travels have taken her across the United States and even to France, but her greatest joys remain close to home—her daughters, grandsons, brother, and sister.
Amory adores dark chocolate, almonds, brie, Thai coconut soup, Chinese food, and coffee-flavored ice cream—but she’ll pass on anything too spicy. She treasures her mother’s paintings, her favorite colors (purple and teal), and any opportunity to talk about her family, her pets, nature, meditation, or music.
Amory, your warmth, wisdom, and light enrich our community every day. We are so grateful to celebrate you this month!
