Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Scotland
“Or, a lion rampant Gules armed and langued Azure within a double tressure flory counter-flory of the second”, meaning a red lion with blue tongue and claws on a yellow field and surrounded by a red double royal tressure flory counter-flory device.
A timeless symbol of unity, the Tudor Rose combines the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York—emblems of rival houses during the Wars of the Roses. When Henry VII united the two through marriage, this floral symbol became a lasting emblem of peace and the English crown.
Associate of the Month
Kaylee Paez
Wildcat Associate Spotlight of the Month Featuring: Kaylee Paez, Sales Counselor
Wildcat is proud to recognize Kaylee Paez as our Associate Spotlight of the Month! Kaylee serves as our Sales Counselor and brings over seven years of combined marketing and senior care experience to the Wildcat team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Charleston Southern University and a master’s degree in Digital Marketing Communications from West Virginia University.
Kaylee was drawn to Wildcat because of our community’s deep commitment to compassionate care and enriching the lives of residents. She takes great pride in guiding individuals and families through the often-challenging transition into senior living, ensuring that each experience is personalized and meaningful.
Outside of her professional role, Kaylee finds her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She and her husband are proud parents to a sweet two-year-old daughter, along with two beloved fur babies—a Boxer and an English Bulldog. Kaylee is also an enthusiastic college football fan and enjoys spending time in the kitchen baking.
Her dedication, compassion, and drive to connect with others make Kaylee a true asset to the Wildcat family. We are thrilled to have her on our team and look forward to all the ways she will continue to make a positive impact.
German Music Legacy
Alexa, play Beethoven’s Symphony Number 9, Opus 125, Second Movement, Molto Vivace.
The second movement of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony bursts with restless energy and rhythmic drive. Marked Molto Vivace, it contrasts the solemn grandeur of the opening with a lively scherzo full of syncopated pulses and dramatic turns. By the time he composed this masterpiece (1822–1824), Beethoven was almost completely deaf, yet his imagination transcended silence, giving the world music of unparalleled vitality. The scherzo’s bold rhythms and jubilant spirit showcase Beethoven’s genius for combining structure and passion, paving the way for the symphony’s monumental choral finale.
Around the World with Atlas – Germany!
Our Around the World with Atlas journey continues, and after a September filled with Highland traditions and Scottish heritage, Wildcat Senior Living is heading into October with a celebration of Germany! Known as the proud home of Oktoberfest, Germany’s culture is rich in history, music, food, and festive traditions that we are excited to bring to life throughout the month.
Residents will enjoy armchair travels across Germany’s beautiful landscapes, from the Bavarian Alps and storybook villages to the bustling streets of Berlin. Along the way, we will explore Germany’s fascinating history, its famous castles, and the traditions that have shaped its unique identity. Trivia games will highlight German customs and contributions, while themed crafts will allow residents to create pieces inspired by Bavarian folk art, beer steins, and autumn colors.
Music will also play a central role this month, as we highlight traditional polkas and festive Oktoberfest tunes that capture the energy of German celebration. We’ll also spotlight some of Germany’s enduring cultural influences in classical music, art, and storytelling.
The month will conclude with our Friends and Family Night, “Oktoberfest at Wildcat,” where residents, families, and guests will gather for an evening filled with German-inspired décor, music, and a hearty menu that could feature traditional sausages, warm pretzels, roasted vegetables, and sweet pastries. It will be a night of fellowship and festivity, embodying the welcoming spirit of Oktoberfest.
Join us as we raise a glass, celebrate friendship, and embrace the charm of Germany. October at Wildcat promises to be a month full of flavor, music, and cultural discovery!
Welcome to Germany
Around the World with Atlas
Germany’s history stretches back to ancient tribes such as the Saxons, Franks, and Goths, whose resilience left a mark on Europe’s foundations. From the crowning of Charlemagne in 800 AD to the rise of the Holy Roman Empire under Otto I, the medieval period saw the growth of a diverse cultural and political landscape. Moments of transformation, like Martin Luther’s Protestant Reformation, sparked new ideas that influenced the world far beyond Germany’s borders.
In the centuries that followed, the rise of Prussia and the eventual German unification in 1871 brought together a patchwork of regions into a modern and power nation.
Though the 20th century was marked by hardship and division, after two awful wars, Germany was in ruin and divided by a wall, years of division goes by until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the re-unification of Germany opened the path to a new chapter. Today, Germany stands as a symbol of resilience and renewal—celebrated for its music, philosophy, literature, and innovations, as well as its role as a cultural and economic leader in Europe.
September Recap: A Journey Through Scotland
This September, Wildcat Senior Living took residents on a cultural adventure to the rugged Highlands and historic cities of Scotland as part of our Around the World with Atlas program. The month was filled with opportunities to learn, create, and experience the richness of Scottish heritage together.
Residents “traveled” through Scotland during armchair tours, exploring Edinburgh, the Isle of Skye, and the legendary Loch Ness while learning about iconic castles and folklore. We added a fun challenge with Scottish-themed trivia, sparking friendly competition and laughter, while craft sessions brought Scotland’s spirit to life with projects inspired by tartan patterns, thistles, and Celtic symbols.
The beauty of Scottish culture was also celebrated through music and poetry. Traditional bagpipes and folk tunes set a festive tone, and residents enjoyed readings of works by Scotland’s beloved poet, Robert Burns, whose verses capture the heart and soul of his homeland.
The month culminated in our Friends and Family Night, Scotland-style! Residents, families, and friends gathered for an evening of warm fellowship, spirited Scottish music (we didn’t keep the bagpipes out for too long, don’t worry!) and a feast inspired by the rustic flavors of the Highlands.
Our Scottish journey brought new knowledge, wonderful memories, and joyful moments to share. We look forward to continuing our Atlas adventure next month!
Celebrating Grandparents Day with a Carnival Twist at Wildcat!
At Wildcat Senior Living, Grandparents Day is always a special occasion—but this year, we turned it into a true carnival celebration! Residents, families, and friends joined us for a day filled with laughter, games, and joyful memories honoring the grandparents who mean so much to us.
Colorful booths, festive decorations, and carnival-style activities set the stage for fun from start to finish. There was plenty of excitement to go around as everyone tried their hand at games, enjoyed lively entertainment, and shared sweet treats together. The cheerful atmosphere brought smiles to every face and made the day one to remember.
Adding an extra dose of fun, our own Life Enrichment Director, Gail, dressed up as a clown and kept the energy high with her playful antics. She quickly became the star of the day—acting every bit the ringleader and even a “beast tamer”—as she guided residents and families through the festivities.
It was a heartwarming and joy-filled celebration, reminding us of the love, wisdom, and laughter grandparents bring into our lives. At Wildcat Senior Living, we are grateful for every opportunity to honor them in such a meaningful and memorable way.
Wildcat Residents Dine at Oscar’s
Residents of Wildcat Senior Living recently enjoyed a special outing to Oscar’s, one of Summerville’s favorite hometown restaurants that adds just the right touch of elegance. Known for its warm atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and reputation as a local favorite, Oscar’s was the perfect spot for residents to experience a meal that felt both comforting and refined.
The group delighted in the chance to step out together and share an afternoon of fellowship, laughter, and good food. From the moment they walked in, the welcoming staff and cozy-yet-fancy setting made everyone feel right at home. The outing gave residents an opportunity not just to enjoy a wonderful meal, but also to savor the experience of dining at a beloved local treasure.
As plates were cleared and smiles were shared, it was clear that the trip to Oscar’s was more than just a lunch—it was an outing that brought residents closer together and highlighted the simple joy of gathering around a table with friends. The day was filled with great conversation, happy memories, and the promise of more outings to come.
At Wildcat, we’re proud to create opportunities like these that let our residents experience the best of our hometown community.

Resident of the Month
Wade & Jack
Wade & Jack – Best Friends and Outdoorsmen at Wildcat.
At Wildcat Senior Living, we love seeing the friendships that blossom within our community. One of the most special is the bond between Wade and Jack, two inseparable pals in Wildcat’s Memory Care, our warm and inviting neighborhood for residents living with memory loss.
Wade’s Story
Born on July 16, 1965, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, Wade has always been happiest outdoors—riding his dirt bike, fishing from one of his handmade boats, or spending time with his loyal black lab, Kane. A true country boy, he grew up near his grandparents’ small store and learned to treasure family, gardening, and Southern cooking. Known for his creativity and craftsmanship, Wade is admired for his hardworking nature and his devotion to loved ones.
Jack’s Story
Jack was born on July 12, 1937, in Sprague, West Virginia. A proud Navy Veteran, he later retired from a career as a semi-truck driver but always kept busy with odd jobs. Married for 68 years, he is the beloved patriarch of a large family, with three children, eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Jack is a devout Christian, a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and a man who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and coaching wrestling—so much so that the Stratford wrestling room is dedicated in his honor.
Together at Wildcat
Though from different generations, Wade and Jack have built a beautiful friendship here at Wildcat. Their laughter, stories, and shared love of the outdoors bring light to everyone around them. Wade and Jack remind us that friendship knows no age and that joy is always better when shared.
