Brazil, the largest country in South America, is known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and stunning natural beauty. Home to the Amazon Rainforest and Christ the Redeemer statue, it offers breathtaking landscapes and iconic landmarks. With diverse influences, lively music, samba, Carnival, and soccer, Brazil is a global symbol of celebration and passion.
Associate of the Month
Angele Koffi
Mrs. Angele Koffi originally hails from Africa but made Charleston her home in 1999 when she married her current husband. She holds an associate degree in communications and a degree in journalistic photography. Angele is the proud mother of four boys and a stepdaughter, and she has eight grandchildren, including twin boys!
For the past seven years, she has worked as a caregiver, an experience she describes as one of the best of her life. Angele is deeply passionate about senior living and feels a strong sense of belonging with the Wildcat Senior Living team, where she has truly found her calling.
Angele is an invaluable member of the Wildcat Senior Living family. Her compassionate nature, dedication, and wealth of experience make her an outstanding caregiver and a true advocate for the well-being of the seniors in her care. Her positive attitude truly inspires others, and her ability to connect with residents and staff alike creates a warm and welcoming environment for everyone. We are grateful to have Angele as part of our team and appreciate the heart and energy she brings to everything she does.
Santas Helper's- Scouts Edition
Our local Scouts of Troop 149 spread holiday cheer to the residents of Wildcat Senior Living by bringing joy and presents to brighten their season. Their dedication to serving the community is truly inspiring, and their hard work brings smiles to so many. We are incredibly grateful for their efforts, which go beyond just this season, reflecting their ongoing commitment to making a positive difference. Their kindness and generosity bring warmth to our hearts, and we deeply appreciate all they do to make the world a better place for everyone. Thank you, Troop 149, for your unwavering service and compassion!

Its deep passion for the sport and rich talent have made Brazil a dominant force in international soccer.
Church of Cane Bay Brings Joy and Comfort to Memory Care Residents
The Church of Cane Bay: We Care has made a significant impact on the lives of the residents in Wildcat Senior Living’s Memory Care, many of whom suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or some type of Dementia. Through thoughtful outreach, the church has provided regular visits, emotional support, and personalized activities. For Christmas, the church “adopted” the residents, gifting them with thoughtful presents that brought holiday cheer. Volunteers also shared uplifting songs, facilitated social interactions, and offered spiritual care, helping foster a sense of connection and peace. Their efforts have greatly improved the residents’ quality of life, ensuring they feel valued and loved. We greatly appreciate our neighbors and friends within the Church of Cane Bay.
Ringing in the New Year with Wildcat Senior Living
Ringing in the New Year at Wildcat Senior Living was a day and evening filled with joy, music, and celebration. Residents came together to welcome 2025 with various parties that brought excitement and a sense of community. One of the highlights of the evening was the beautiful piano performance by Ms. Paula Rhodes. Her melodious tunes filled the air, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.
The residents, who were eager to celebrate the start of a new year, enjoyed the lively festivities, from delicious treats, vibrant decorations, and even a balloon drop or two. The celebrations included an array of activities, making everyone feel included and cherished. As the various countdowns happened throughout the day and evening, the energy was palpable, with laughter and smiles shared among friends and neighbors.
Ms. Rhodes’ piano performance was the perfect backdrop, adding a touch of elegance and serenity to the celebrations. Her skillful playing elevated the entire event, allowing the residents to reflect on the year gone by and look forward to the future with hope and excitement. Wildcat Senior Living’s New Year’s Eve parties were a true testament to the spirit of togetherness, with everyone coming together to create lasting memories and ring in 2025 with love and cheer.
Wildcat Senior Living Hosts Festive Holiday Extravaganza for Friends and Family
Wildcat Senior Living celebrated the holiday season with a special Friends and Family Monthly event, bringing together residents, their families, and friends for an unforgettable celebration. This month’s event, the Holiday Extravaganza, was a joyful occasion filled with delicious food, lively entertainment, and cherished moments shared among loved ones.
Residents and guests were treated to a variety of festive dishes, including traditional holiday favorites, expertly prepared by our very own Chef Eileen Goos and Wildcat’s talented culinary team. The atmosphere was bright with holiday decorations, creating a warm and inviting setting for all attendees.
Entertainment included live music, encouraging guests to relax, socialize, and join in the holiday spirit. Residents and their families enjoyed heartwarming camaraderie, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Holiday Extravaganza emphasized community and togetherness, making it the perfect way to celebrate the season with those closest to you. As always, Wildcat Senior Living strove to foster a sense of belonging and joy, offering opportunities for residents and their loved ones to connect and create lasting bonds.
The monthly event proved to be a highlight for all attendees, spreading cheer and creating cherished holiday memories. Please make plans to join us on January 15th for our next Friends & Family Event, themed for our Around the World with Atlas, with January’s focus on Brazilian culture and dining! All RSVPs should be turned into the concierge desk by January 13th with a guest limit of six guests per resident. Recipe Spotlight:
Lemon Buttermilk Pie
with strawberry toping
Ingredients:
1 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp grated lemon zest
2 cups fresh Louisiana strawberries, sliced
2¼ cups sugar
1 tbsp flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries with ¾ cup sugar, stir, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. This should be done at least 6 hours prior to serving. In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining sugar, flour and salt. Blend well. Add eggs and egg yolks, and using a wire whisk, cream into sugar mixture. Once blended, add buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and zest. Whisk well to incorporate and dissolve sugar. Pour into pie shell and place on a cookie sheet. Bake 50 minutes or until pie is lightly browned and filling is just set. Remove and cool a minimum of 30 minutes prior to serving. Top each slice with a generous portion of sugared strawberries.

Larry & Pat Thomson (and Buddy!)
Larry and Pat Thomson, married for 31 wonderful years, have led a life rich in adventure and dedication, and since their move to Wildcat in June 2024, they’ve quickly become cherished members of the community. Larry, originally from Tacoma, WA, served with distinction in the US Navy for 23 years, retiring in 1986, and then spent five years at the Charleston Navy Shipyard and 15 years at the Defense Supply Center in Richmond, Washington, before retiring again in 2007. A lover of the outdoors, Larry enjoys fishing and collecting guns, always eager to share his passions with others. Pat, born in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, devoted many years to her career at Travelers Insurance Company before retiring in 2007. A true homemaker at heart, she finds joy in the simple pleasures of the beach, cooking, sewing, and reading, always with a warm smile and a generous spirit. Their beloved 13-year-old pup, Buddy, is the sweetest companion, adoring walks, treats, and cozy moments in laps, his presence bringing comfort and joy to everyone around him. Since arriving at Wildcat, Larry, Pat, and Buddy have become the epitome of kind-hearted, engaged neighbors—always ready with a helping hand, a friendly wave, or a shared story. Their genuine warmth, enthusiasm for life, and willingness to connect have made them beloved members of the Wildcat family, and they have embraced this new chapter with open hearts, enriching the community in every way.
