Resident of the Month

Congratulations to Jane, for being selected as the Resident of the Month!

Jane Sheridan

Our resident of the month, Jane, was born in Brooklyn and grew up on Long Island. After graduating high school, she attended secretarial school before moving to Manhattan in 1968. She spent the next 10 years living in Greenwich Village, where she loved being surrounded by the arts, culture, and energy of the city.
In 1978, Jane moved to Key West and began a new chapter by attending nursing school. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and began her nursing career in primary care. One of her favorite nursing experiences was working alongside a physician specializing in HIV care, where she found great meaning in helping her patients.
Jane later moved to Louisiana to earn her master’s degree before settling in St. Petersburg in 2004. She worked as an inpatient hospice nurse at Bay Pines VA, a role that allowed her to provide compassionate care to veterans. After retiring from the VA, Jane continued sharing her knowledge and experience by teaching at Galen College of Nursing, where she remained until about a year ago.
Throughout her life, Jane has loved to travel and experience new places and cultures. Of all the destinations she has visited, the Netherlands—and especially Amsterdam—holds a special place in her heart.
Jane’s life has been filled with adventure, learning, compassion, and a commitment to helping others. We are so happy to celebrate her as our Resident of the Month!
