You are all the most important part of our community!

Discovering National Parks - Yellowstone

This month we are exploring Yellowstone National Park, located in the northwest corner of Wyoming and extending into Montana and Idaho. It was established by the 42nd U.S. Congress with the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially the Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular.

Yellowstone National Park spans an area of 3,468.4 square miles, with lakes, canyons, rivers, and mountain ranges. Yellowstone has the most active, diverse, and intact collections of combined geothermal features with over 10,000 hydrothermal sites and half the world’s active geysers. The park is also rich in cultural and historical resources with 25 sites, landmarks, and districts on the National Register of Historic Places.

Please check the activity calendar for our activities featuring this beautiful national park!

It has been an intense couple of weeks with back to back hurricanes threatening our community. Hurricane season can be scary, but with the right preparation it can be handled with ease.
Our staff was diligent during preparations and followed our established emergency protocols and county approved plans to safeguard all of our residents and staff. While we had some minor damage to our community we will be working to fix these issues over the next few months. Please let management know if you have an unresolved issue in your room.
We want to send a shout out to our regional team as well as our day to day Goldton team on what a great job they did managing the storms.
We would also like to thank our residents for weathering the storm with us and your patience as we navigate our repairs.

The landscape of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is the result of various geological processes over the last 150 million years. Here, Earth’s crust has been compressed, pulled apart, glaciated, eroded, and subjected to volcanism.
