Meet the new Beautician, Jennifer

Hi, I’m Jennifer Fronning, I am the new beautician here at the Goldton. A little background about me. I changed careers 13 years ago after battling breast cancer. After losing all of my hair I knew I wanted to make people feel good about themselves. I love taking care of people, I love making them smile and I love spreading joy.
My husband and I have been blessed with six kids and multiple grandchildren. Grandchildren are the best! We help our oldest son with her two girls since his divorce and the two of them keep their Dad, Gamma and Grandaddy on their toes.
I used to work in a hair salon, but it still felt like work. Since I have been mobile and since in have been going to communities like yours I feel like I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I’ve told my husband so many times how much I love what I’m doing and that I finally feel like I’m where God wants me to be. I am very thankful to be here and love doing what I do.
I will be here on Wednesdays, stop into the salon if you have any questions or want to schedule an appointment.

Italian Tradition

Alexa, play“Vivaldi’s Four Seasons”

Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741), “Il Prete Rosso” (The Red Priest) due to his red hair and clerical status, was a Venetian composer, virtuoso violinist, and a key figure of the Baroque era. His innovative compositions and extraordinary violin skills earned him a reputation as one of the most celebrated musicians of his time.

Vivaldi composed over 500 concertos, more than 230 for solo violin, making him one of the most prolific composers for the instrument. The Four Seasons is his most famous work; his music legacy has inspired musicians over the centuries. The Four Seasons was composed around 1721 and published in 1725 in Amsterdam.

Around the World with Atlas - Italy

This month in our around the world with Atlas we will be exploring the country of Italy. Before Rome became the center of a powerful empire, Italy was the birthplace of the ancient Etruscan and Samnite civilizations. These societies had enormous cultural influence and helped shape what would later become part of Roman heritage. The Italian flag, also known as the ‘Tricolore,’ has its origins in the French flag brought to Italy by Napoleon in 1797. The green, white, and red colors represent hope, faith, and charity and are a symbol of the country’s national identity.

Italian culture is rich in history and tradition, and is influenced by art, music, food, and family. It’s also known for its style and fashion. We will be exploring many of these traditions this month. Check the activity calendar for these activities they are highlighted in grey.

Italian Legacy
Around the World with Atlas

A Timeline
“From the grandeur of Roman amphitheaters to the visionary works of Renzo Piano, Italian architecture is a living testament to art across the ages. Timeless.”

Rome, the Eternal City, is an open-air museum. Walk its cobblestone streets to witness the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and fountains that whisper stories of empire and artistry.

Italy, the birthplace of the Renaissance, gave the world great artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Titian. With world-renowned cuisine, iconic design, and a rich musical legacy featuring maestros such as Vivaldi, Verdi, Puccini, Ennio Morricone, and Nino Rota, Italy remains an eternal source of inspiration.

Italian Masters

(Renaissance Amazing Facts)

Tiziano Vecelli, known as Titian, was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, celebrated for his mastery of color and dramatic compositions. Born in the Republic of Venice around 1488–1490, he became the official painter of the Venetian Republic and worked for European rulers, including Emperor Charles V, who knighted him—an exceptional honor for an artist.
