The Goldton Store & February Dress Days

This month we are introducing the Goldton Store. Earn Goldton Bucks and spend them at the store. We will have the store three time this month. We will have lots of snacks and candy, household items and more!
How to earn Goldton Bucks: Play Bingo and win. Dress up on our “dress up” days. I also will be giving out randomly at different activities.
February Dress Up Days: This month we will start having some fun dress days. Each day that we are dressing up will be on the calendar. We also will have Valentine Spirit Week, where we dress different each day. For example, on the 15th you can wear your Fuzzy Socks! Every time you participate, you will receive a “Goldton Buck”. First dress up day is on the 2nd, its National Wear Red day!

February Activity Highlights

Cruise Around The World: This month, to celebrate Chinese New Year, we are cruising to China! Our monthly Port of Call will be Friday 2/23/24 at 12:00pm. We will have a Photo Booth, live entertainment with Tony Zain, and some delicious food. Feel free to be creative and dress up in red and black, or whatever you think would fit the theme.
Presentations: This month we will have three presentation talks. On Valentine’s Day Joseph is coming back to the community to talk about, “Celebrating The Heart”. We also will have a presentation about the importance of hydration, and the different types of Chocolate, and yes, I will be giving out lots of chocolate!
Birthday Party: Starting this month, we will be be celebrating all February Birthdays! This month, Brenda, who is a volunteer, will be doing Karaoke. We will have cake and ice cream so don’t miss it! Everyone is invited!
Shake, Rattle and Stroll: You will see this activity in February’s calendar. This is a chance to get out and walk around the community. If you participate, make sure you get a walking sheet from the front desk or Jennifer Nolan. You will document the days you walk and the following month we will have a raffle, with someone winning a gift card to Walmart. If you have any questions about this, please ask Jennifer.
Exploring the National Parks

In February we are exploring Mammoth Cave National Park. This park is located in Kentucky. It’s home to the world’s longest known cave system – with more than 400 miles of underground passageways. We will have Armchair Travel, virtually traveling to Mammoth Cave on Friday 2/2. Some of the caves are a tight fit, and its amazing how people travel through the small caves! On Tuesday the 6th, we are “hiking” in the National Park. We will be there in spirit as we move through the caves, swim with the freshwater fish and bike through the rocky trails! Our Mammoth Cave craft is on 2/21 and will be a mason jar DIY nightlight. Please don’t forget to sign up for this craft; sign up sheet is located by large calendar.
