Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes – Kīlauea and Mauna Loa – and is a designated International Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
End of Summer Hoedown
Join us for our highly anticipated End of Summer Hoedown on Wednesday, August 28th at 4:00 PM in the Courtyard! Last year’s event was a tremendous hit, and this year promises to be even better. We will have BBQ with all the southern fixings. We are excited to welcome back country singer Doug Pinson, whose lively performance will surely get everyone up and dancing. Come celebrate the end of summer with great music, dancing, and the wonderful company of our community. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled event!

Recipe of the Month
Healthy End of Summer Salad
Ingredients:
4 cups mixed greens
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cucumber, sliced
1 avocado, diced
1 cup grilled chicken strips
Light vinaigrette (your choice)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and diced avocado.
Add the grilled chicken strips on top of the salad.
Drizzle with a light vinaigrette just before serving.
Toss gently to mix all ingredients and enjoy!
This easy and healthy salad is perfect for a refreshing end-of-summer meal. Enjoy!
Celebrating Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in August
This August, we are thrilled to celebrate the wonders of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with a month packed full of exciting and engaging activities for our residents! Our festivities will include a variety of fun events designed to capture the spirit of Hawaii and provide entertainment for everyone.
Get ready to show off your skills in our hula hoop contests, a fun way to stay active and enjoy some friendly competition. Cool off with refreshing Italian shaved ice on the patio, offering a perfect treat during the warm summer days. Movie enthusiasts will love our “Blue Hawaii” pizza matinee, where we’ll watch the classic film while enjoying delicious pizza together.
In addition to these entertaining events, we’re bringing a bit of nostalgia with a throwback to science class. Join us for a hands-on volcano eruption project, where residents can engage in a fun and educational activity that demonstrates the fascinating power of volcanoes.
We invite all residents to join us in embracing the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Hawaii. This month-long celebration promises a blend of fun, learning, and community spirit. Don’t miss out on the excitement and festivities as we explore and honor Hawaii Volcanoes National Park!
