GEORGETOWN, TX — The Oscar at Georgetown, a new local senior living community, hosted a grand opening on May 22. The event invited residents and the public to experience a lifestyle brimming with exceptional service, engaging activities, and award-winning culinary delights.
“We are ready and eager to welcome seniors to a place they can truly call home,” said Brian Haddock, Executive Director of The Oscar at Georgetown. “The Oscar at Georgetown is much more than just a senior living community; it’s a place where residents can thrive, connect, and savor the finer things in life, including chef-prepared cuisine.”
The grand opening event was Oscar-themed, with residents celebrated as movie stars. Each resident had a star on the “Walk of Fame” that guided guests through the community, where different areas represented Oscar-winning movies.
Menus for food and drink highlighted the community’s culinary prowess, with the BBQ “shotgun shells” (manicotti stuffed with sausage, BBQ sauce, Monterey Jack cheese, and wrapped in bacon) being a particular hit. Impressive dishes like grilled quail with Carolina mustard sauce and seared scallops were also served. Over 350 people attended the event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the local Chamber of Commerce, preceded by a champagne toast.
