A message from our ED

Hudie Langston Executive Director Legacy Ridge At Brookstone

Greetings Family Members,

Once again, I would like to thank those that completed our annual Resident/Family Satisfaction Survey. After reviewing the survey with my Leadership Team, the main areas of concern identified are management/staff communication with family members, staff turnover, and activities for residents that reside in our Memory Care Community.

Performance Improvement Plans/Action Plans have been implemented to improve on noted areas of concern. As this year progresses, I would appreciate your feedback to see if we are making improvements in noted areas of concern. As always, thank you for entrusting us with caring for your loved one(s).

If you have any pending concerns that need to be addressed, please feel free to email me at hlangston@legacyridgebrookstone.com or contact me by phone at 770-423-0080.

Sincerely,

World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day, initiated by UNESCO in 1999, arrives on March 21 to honor globally the artistry and diversity of poetry. It pays homage to poets who craft words into emotion, images, and storytelling, transcending boundaries and enriching human experiences.

You can mark the occasion by sharing favorite poems with friends or family, attending poetry readings or events, or even trying your hand at writing a short poem. Dive into different poetic styles, from traditional sonnets to modern spoken word, exploring the richness of expression they offer. You might also support local poets or poetry organizations, sharing their work on social media or attending their performances. Whether you choose to write, read, or listen to poetry performed, World Poetry Day invites us to immerse ourselves in the beauty and power of words.

The Perfect Pair

Feeling hungry? March 23 is Chip and Dip Day. This ultimate snack and party pairing has come a long way since chips and salsa. Often, the dip is the exciting element of the duo: creamy ranch made with sour cream, dill, garlic, and dried onions. Or guacamole with fresh avocados, garlic, onion, tomatoes, a dash of cayenne, and a squirt of lime. For a change of pace, try hummus, spinach with artichokes, or a white bean spread.

Although it may be taken for granted, the chip is more than just a vehicle for the dip. Corn, potato, and baked pita chips provide a satisfying crunch. Sometimes you don’t need a chip at all. Toasted slices of Italian bread are the perfect base for bruschetta. If you really want to impress a crowd, wow them with cheese fondue. The cheese is spectacular, but equally delicious are the sausage, bread, apples, and veggies for dipping.

Additionally, Yvonne’s fondness for jigsaw puzzles showcases her determination and patience in piecing together life’s intricate challenges.

In celebrating Yvonne’s achievements, we are reminded that life’s greatest joys lie in the simple moments and the love we share with others. Her story teaches us the importance of commitment, selflessness, and finding solace in the things we are truly passionate about.Let us reach out to Yvonne, congratulate her on being our resident of the month, and express our gratitude for the inspiration she brings to our community. Together, let’s continue to support and uplift one another, celebrating the uniqueness and strength we each possess.

Wishing you all a joyful and inspired month ahead!

One of Emily’s favorite travel experiences growing up was getting to travel across the country by train with her parents. She also enjoyed spending summers with family. Reunions, camping, family picnics overlooking the Mississippi River at Eagle Point Park in Clinton and visiting Chicago are some of her favorite memories. She enjoys lots of activities including bowling, puzzles, birdwatching, baking club, playing cards, and sewing. On Christmas she always made sure she sewed everyone a pair of matching pajamas. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being awesome and putting a smile on everyone’s face.
