Congratulations to Iftikhar Emily!

My name is Emmalee Volk. I was born and raised in East Aurora, a small town just outside of Buffalo, New York. In 2016, I moved to Greenwood, South Carolina, where I now call home. I’m an only child, but I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by cousins, which made my childhood full of connection and fun.

I have a one-and-a-half-year-old Great Dane named Ashtro he’s my pride and joy. I enjoy all kinds of music, but I was raised on country and classic rock, which will always have a special place in my heart.

I have many passions and hobbies, but helping others especially children is something I’ve always been drawn to. I’ve been a certified CNA for eight years and have volunteered with my local fire department for about a year. I recently completed training for basic EMT and plan to take my national exam by the end of the year. My ultimate goal is to become a paramedic and travel to all 50 states.

Another passion of mine is photography. I love capturing life’s special moments and helping people see the world through a creative and meaningful lens. Traveling is also something I deeply enjoy—one of my most memorable trips was to Uganda, Africa in 2014, and I’ve also journeyed down the East Coast from New York to Louisiana.

What I appreciate most about Legacy is the supportive atmosphere. The staff is always willing to step in and help where needed, and that sense of community means a lot to me.

"I like working at Legacy Reserve because everyone here creates such an accepting and comfortable environment for me"

Independent Living

Walker Bagwell

Congratulations to Walker!
I am 19 years old and have lived in South Carolina for my entire life. I do not mind staying so close to home, as that is where I can always find familiarity and family. Interacting with friends and family has always been so positive for me, and I hold so much value in that I am especially glad to have this opportunity to work here. It likely would not have been possible if it weren’t for my brothers, Atticus and Cole, who worked here first and were prepared to help me feel comfortable. My lovely girlfriend, Lily, has also helped me greatly and is a strong motivator for me, and I am thankful to know her and be able to talk to her. I am also so thankful for my family at home who are always supportive, and my grandmother who assists me in so many ways that I’d be lost without.

As a person who is not very sociable, I am so grateful for my position that it allows me to be comfortable, and speaking with the residents here helps me so much to improve my speech, as they are so respectful and accepting. My surroundings here are so comfortable, and everyone has been very accommodating to me since I first arrived.

I greatly enjoy spending time playing video games and creating different forms of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. I plan to attend Clemson in the fall to study Biological Sciences. I would like to use that to work with animals, although I am excited to see where my studies lead me once I am in the middle of it all and independent.
