Abbey Blackwell began working in Senior Living in 2009 as a Business Office Director for Sunrise Ridge Assisted Living. In 2010, Abbey was promoted to Executive Director after obtaining her Administrator’s License. With 10 years’ experience in Senior Living, she brings knowledge that includes regulatory compliance, operations and implementing policies and procedures. Abbey began working with Atlas Senior Living as the Executive Director of Sunrise Ridge following its acquisition in November of 2016. During her tenure with Sunrise Ridge, Abbey was utilized to perform mock surveys and compliance audits at other communities to establish best practices and ensure regulatory compliance. She started college as an Elementary Education major at the University of Montevallo where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. After choosing a different path, Abbey graduated from Jefferson State Community College with an Associate in Applied Science Degree as a Medical Support Specialist and a certified Medical Office Assistant. Abbey also obtained her Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional certification in 2018.
