Holiday Celebrations:

Christmas

Merry Christmas

What does Christmas mean to you?By: Day Translations

Christmas is again upon us and people around the world are busy with their preparations for their own version of a Christmas dinner. Christmas is a time for family reunions, family bonding, renewing friendships, exchanging gifts, and going on holidays.

Christians around the world celebrate Christmas in different ways, following their beliefs and their traditions. Christmas is a time to celebrate. Foremost is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. It is meant to bring a message of peace and hope, but this is now overshadowed by the stress preparing for Christmas brings to many people.

What Is Christmas To Other People?Although many people have almost forgotten what it really means, there are still plenty of people young and old around the world, who have a different take on what the festive season is. Here are a few basic meanings:

It is not about presents but celebrating the birth of the Creator. To remember Jesus’ birth and to care for, share, and give to people who do not have homes. It is the time to spend with family.A to thank God.It is about opening presents and having fun, being with family, and being out of school or at work.Helping underprivileged people enjoy Christmas. It is time spent with family and a time to give back to the community.Witnessing the true excitement and enchantment of the season through the eyes of children. It is the time to reflect on what’s truly important in life.To share love and help out

Dementia Awareness

About Dementia

Dementia Matters

What is dementia? Causes, symptoms and diagnosis. Dementia is an umbrella term for loss of memory and other abilities .Dementia is not a single disease. It’s an overall term to describe a collection of symptoms that one may experience if they are living with a variety of diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. Diseases grouped under the general term “dementia” are caused by abnormal brain changes. Dementia symptoms trigger a decline in thinking skills, also known as cognitive abilities, severe enough to impair daily life and independent function. They also affect behavior, feelings and relationships.

Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60-80% of cases. Vascular dementia, which occurs because of microscopic bleeding and blood vessel blockage in the brain, is the second most common cause of dementia. Those who experience the brain changes of multiple types of dementia simultaneously have mixed dementia. There are many other conditions that can cause symptoms of cognitive impairment but that aren’t dementia, including some that are reversible, such as thyroid problems and vitamin deficiencies.

Dementia is often incorrectly referred to as “senility” or “senile dementia,” which reflects the formerly widespread but incorrect belief that serious mental decline is a normal part of aging.
