Resident of the Month

Stephen Charles Berry was born in upstate New York in 1932. His father, Charles Berry, passed away during the war, prompting the family to relocate to Delray Beach, Florida. There, Stephen worked as a lifeguard and pursued his passion for music, playing the drums and piano, and singing at various venues.

He attended Stetson University in DeLand and served eight years in the Army, where he flew planes. After his military service, he became a Claims Supervisor for Hartford Insurance.

An avid sailor, Stephen even built a sailboat with his daughter. He was deeply involved in his church, serving as a deacon and singing in the choir. For many years, he participated in the renowned Singing Christmas Tree at First Baptist Orlando.

After the loss of his second wife while living in Alabama, Stephen returned to the Orlando area to be closer to his children. He is the proud father of three—Lynn, Dianne, and David—and has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
