Resident of the Month

Mrs. Judith Hennesse, born August 6th, 1943, celebrated her 83rd birthday in style this year! Judith was selected to be this month’s resident of the month, because of her kind, loving, and giving spirit. She is constantly looking out for the needs of others and willing to help out, assist, or provide whatever she can to bring joy and happiness to others. This year she went out of her way to provide snacks, drinks, entertainment and a photo booth to the community to enjoy with all of her friends and family members on her birthday. It was a night that everyone will remember for a very long time! Thank you so much for going out of your way, on your birthday, to make sure that all of the staff and residents had a good time!
Judith was born the middle child with one older sister and one younger sister. Her mother was a bookkeeper and father a mechanic. She was raised in Centerville, Michigan, but later moved to Texas and Louisiana before retiring and moving to Florida with her husband. Judith is the proud mother of 9 children (6 girls and 3 boys). Because of her extremely high IQ she won a scholarship to attend College in San Antonio, Texas where she obtained her degree in journalism. Throughout her lifetime she had many jobs, but one of her favorite jobs was working as a Newborn Nursery Attendant at a hospital in Corpus Christie, Texas. It was a lot of responsibility, but she was up to the challenge and truly loved caring for the newborn infants and providing guidance and medical care to the new mother’s, during her time as a journalist she wrote many newspaper articles, poems, business documents, letters and resumes. Later, she became a special education teacher. Mrs. Hennesse’s favorite color is lavender. She loves all music, but especially 1980’s artists. Despite her hectic work schedule and in between raising her 9 children she enjoyed many hobbies, to name a few: swimming, fishing, collecting bottles, cooking, travelling a volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader. One of her favorite sayings is “Intelligence is Key”. She even studied archeology and religion at one point in time and considered becoming an archeologist! When asked what she would like to eat if she could have anything she wanted and she stated that she would ask for a good old banana split!!
