Beat the heat and adopt a grandma or grandpa for the summer. If you, your family, or company are looking to volunteer for the summer Madison at Clermont is the place for you! Our residents and staff love to have fun. As a volunteer you can help with our Senior STEM Class, play games, sing, do arts and crafts, read, fitness or just sit and have a great conversation with our residents. Pastor Tim Brown
In memory care we had Pastor Tim Brown from Christ The King Lutheran Church stop by to spend an hour with our residents. It brought a joy to them by spending time with Pastor Brown and get to hear the word of God! We look forward to having him back soon.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes – KÄ«lauea and Mauna Loa – and is a designated International Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Jade

Each week we have some type of entertainment, but this past month we had Jade, a 10-year-old child prodigy. Jade has been on multiple stages throughout central Florida preforming. Her angelic voice touched the hearts of the residents, bringing them to tears as she performed at Madison at Clermont.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hot Pink Summer Party
Did you miss the Hot Pink Summer Party, then you miss the hottest party this summer. It was so much fun having the South Lake Chamber of Commerce along with many of the Clermont city officials attend the party. We would like to thank USO Polynesia Entertainment for providing a fantastic Polynesia dance experience! Make sure you are at the next Madison at Clermont party because you don’t want to miss the fun!
Dance Class
Have you heard about Madison at Clermont new dance class? This past month we started our dance class for seniors, but the classes are tailored to each resident skills and needs. If you like to dance with your walker, we have you covered or maybe sitting and dancing fits you, and for those who would like to do a little more we have you covered as well. Come out and join us on Tuesday’s at 4pm in the piano room.

Recipe Spotlight:
Summer Vegetable Frittata

Ingredients:
1 cup zucchini, halved lengthwise and cut in ¼-inch slices
1 cup diced potatoes, cooked completely
½ cup halved grape tomatoes
2 tbsps sliced black olives
6 eggs
salt and pepper to taste
¼ tsp chopped fresh basil
pinch cayenne pepper
2 tbsps olive oil
½ cup minced onions
¼ cup minced yellow bell peppers
¼ cup minced red bell peppers
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
½ cup shredded mozzarella
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450°F. Beat eggs with salt, pepper, basil, and cayenne in a bowl. In an ovenproof non-stick pan, heat oil and sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until tender. Add zucchini and cook until al dente. Stir in potatoes, heating thoroughly, then add grape tomatoes and black olives. Turn off the heat and pour eggs over the vegetables. Top with sliced tomatoes and sprinkle with mozzarella. Bake for 10–15 minutes until the frittata is firm and cheese is slightly browned. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into wedges and serve.

Angela Graham

Our employee of the month is Angela Graham, a Florida native from Gainesville. Angela’s mother and father is from Jamaica, so she was brought up having a strong Jamaican heritage. She loves spending time with family and going to the beach. With more than 20 years as a healthcare professional Angela is very passionate about her job.
Resident of the Month
Betty Williams

Who is Betty Williams, our resident of the month and Madison at Clermont perfect dancer. The staff and residents love seeing Ms. Betty dance around the building and on trips. She enjoys having fun with her daughter and grandchildren. Ms. Betty is a Florida native who retired from Frito Lay after 38 years. You can always find Ms. Betty when good music is playing because she will be the first one on the dance floor.
