Resident’s Birthdays

Ed McCracken – April 7
Jerome Rosenberg – April 15
Sharon May (Mary) – April 29
Maurice Halter – April 30

Our memory care neighborhood has introduced a new activity that the residents absolutely love! Starting in March, we launched a fresh program designed to get everyone moving on Tuesdays at 10 AM. Ian Lee Hwang, also known as SB, combines dance and martial arts to energize our residents. SB is a nationally and internationally recognized entertainer, known for his talents in dance, spoken word, and music. His impressive career includes performing for U.S. troops aboard battleships and hosting multiple conferences for middle and high school students. We’re thrilled with the positive response to this new program and love seeing the smiles and laughter of our memory care residents.

Greek Heritage

Alexa play "Conquest of Paradise" from "Vangelis"

Conquest of Paradise is a musical composition by Greek Composer  Vangelis, created for the 1992 film 1492: Conquest of Paradise directed by Ridley Scott. The film depicts Christopher Columbus’ journey to the New World, and Vangelis’ score perfectly captures the sense of adventure, discovery, and grandeur.

Associate of the Month

Nyla Cook

Nyla Cook

What can we say about Nyla Cook? Nyla has a great heart for the residents, and it shows in her work. She is a team player that has helped many residents and her fellow associates throughout the building. Nyla is so kind and polite. Here are some things that you may not know about Nyla. She has a one-year-old son, and she is a YouTube influencer. In her down time, Nyla writes music and loves to paint. One of her sayings is that “live each day as if it might be your last but dream as if you will live forever”. Please congratulate Nyla as our April employee of the month.

Living With Purpose

Living With Purpose is one of our new activities that we have added to the monthly calendar. If you did not attend the first class, then you missed a great session with Kristen Thomas from Compassionate Care Hospice. We are so glad that Kristen has donated her time to explore living with purpose sessions. I’m sure you are wondering what living with purpose is about. It is a safe space where our residents can express concerns about life and desires for the future. We hope that residents can explore ideas and ways they are able to help in our community as seniors and each other. Please make sure you are at the next Living With Purpose session this month.

Greek Heritage
Around the World with Atlas

Greece, the cradle of Western civilization, is a land where ancient history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant culture come together. From the awe-inspiring ruins of the Acropolis of Athens, where the Parthenon stands as a symbol of classical Greece, to the mystical sanctuary of Delphi, once considered the center of the world in ancient times, Greece is rich in heritage and mystical past.

The whitewashed cliffs of Santorini showcase Mediterranean charm. Whether exploring ancient ruins, sun-drenched islands, or dramatic landscapes, Greece captivates with its timeless beauty and profound legacy.

Toga Party

Food Toga Party

This month we celebrate all things Greece! You know Madison at Clermont loves any reason to celebrate and we are excited to host our first ever Senior Living Toga Party on April 17th from 5-7pm. Invite your family and friends to join us for this one-of-a-kind event. Togas are highly encouraged to be worn by all! This month in STEM class we will be working on the residents’ attire for the party. STEM class is on Thursdays at 2:45pm in the activity room. So, residents, please come to STEM class to work on your toga!

Prayer Group

A few of the residents are seeking other residents that would like to participate in the evening prayer group once a week. The prayer group will meet once a week on Wednesdays at 5:45pm after dinner in the lobby. This prayer group is for all residents wanting to pray for each other and their families. The prayer group will be overseen by the residents. Staff and family members are welcome to join during prayer.

Bird Feeder

We love our front desk concierge staff. They are always looking out for the residents. Once a year there is a bird migration that takes place through Florida and if you put out bird feeders you may be lucky to see nature up-close and personal. Treva, our front desk concierge, brought in a bird feeder and the residents enjoyed the birds coming in to eat from the feeder. The residents have expressed their gratitude and love for this up-close experience as they enjoy Florida beautiful weather.
