Think of her as the captain welcoming new passengers, ensuring their apartments are shipshape and their introduction to The Oscar community is unforgettable.But it’s not just about the logistics for Eleanor. Having missed her grandparents back East, she’s eager to build meaningful connections with our residents, fostering “quasi-grandparent” relationships filled with laughter and shared experiences.Beyond her passion for senior living, Eleanor’s a creative whiz (she makes her own paper!) and a fierce rugby player. The thirty day notice letters communicating your move-in date, pro-rated rent, and incentives will be going out soon. To make your transition as seamless as possible, we’ve compiled some helpful information and resources:

Move-In Essentials:

Date & Time: We have done our best to work with everyone’s preferred move-in dates and requirements. Should you have a concern with your designated move-in date please communicate with our Move-In Coordinator Eleanor.Building Access: Your access to exterior entry doors and your apartment door will be by key fob, issued to you on move-in day.Moving Assistance: Need a helping hand? Explore third-party moving services recommended by The Oscar. Eleanor can provide you with the list if you have not already received it.Phone, Internet & Basic Cable: All three will be set up and ready for you to utilize in your apartment on move-in day.Move-In Questions: Contact your dedicated Move-In Coordinator, Eleanor, at 410-553-1544 or ejohnson@theoscaratgeorgetown.com for any questions or concerns related to your move.

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a taste of the Emerald Isle itself? Channel Irish spirit with this classic potato & cabbage mash! Simple & delicious, it’s perfect for your St. Patrick’s Day feast.

Ingredients:3 lbs potatoes2 sticks butter (divided)1 1/4 cup hot milkPepper1 head cabbage (shredded)1 lb bacon (optional, cooked & crumbled)4 scallions (chopped)Parsley (garnish)

Method:Boil potatoes 30 min, mash with 1 stick butter & milk. Season with pepper.Boil cabbage until tender, chop & saute with remaining butter.Combine mashed potatoes, cabbage, scallions, & bacon (if using). Garnish with parsley.

Tips:Use Irish butter & cheddar for richer flavor.Experiment with kale, collard greens, or spinach instead of cabbage.Reheat leftovers gently in a pan or microwave.Serve with corned beef, bangers & mash, or roasted chicken.
