Clingmans Dome

At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Tennessee. On clear days you can see over 100 miles in any direction. The highest peak in the park is easy to access for visitors of all ages and abilities and a must for any visit

Cades Cove

This beautiful misty mountain valley is perhaps the most popular spot in the park with its historic cabins, abundant wildlife, including black bears. The fall is the best time to visit providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and some of the best fall foliage found anywhere in the world.

We are so very excited for our Grand Opening! With a Winter Wonderland theme, the halls have been decked and food preparations are already underway! Enjoy lots of food, live music from a harpist, violinist, and pianist, an ice sculpting demo, Smores, and there might even be some magic! We are thrilled to show off our beautiful new facility!

The Canopy |at Beacon Woods Announces Opening of State-of-the-Art Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Hudson, Florida

HUDSON, FL — December 28, 2023 — The Canopy at Beacon Woods, a premier 64-unit Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in Hudson, Florida, is thrilled to announce the completion of construction and the acceptance of its first residents starting December 29, 2023.

In a joint venture between Rimrock Companies and Atlas Senior Living, The Canopy at Beacon Woods has garnered substantial support from the community, with preleasing already exceeding 50% of the available units.

The Lifestyle Department has partnered with Caring K9’s for meet and greets! Swing by the Downstairs Common Room every other Monday, starting January 1st, at 10:00 am to meet Miss Dixie, KC or Yogi! These loveable dogs and their handlers, Dee and Rick, have undergone extensive training and it shows! Catch them again on January 15th and January 29th.

Join Us For Our Passport Series

Smoky Mountains Passport

It’s a new year, and a great time to start our Passport Series. This year we will be “travelling” to 12 of our Nations parks, all from the comfort of our Multipurpose Room. We will learn about the history, the animals and fauna, and fascinating facts about each park as we take virtual tours of the walking and hiking trails. Each month all participants will earn a stamp in their passport book, so they can showcase their travel. January we are visiting The Great Smokey Mountains National Parks. Enjoy beautiful vistas and scenic trails on January 29th at 1:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room.

January Recipe Spotlight:

Winter White Sangria

Winter White Sangria

Ingredients:
1 bottle Dry White Wine
1 cup Apple Juice
1 cup Cranberry Juice
1 Apple, diced
2 Tablespoons sugar
Juice of one Lemon
Fresh Cranberries for garnish

Instructions:
In a pitcher pour wine, apple juice and cranberry juice and chill. Sprinkle lemon juice over apple pieces and mix in the sugar. Serve the Winter White Sangria garnished with the apples and cranberries.

What makes the Smoky Mountains smokey? The mist is formed from the vapor given off by all the plants in the mountains. When the vapor is released, the molecules that make up the gas scatter blue light from the sky, giving the fog its blue color.
