Outings Providing Fun and History

Our community recently enjoyed two fantastic outings that brought joy, learning and delicious food to our residents.
Our Memory Care residents had a delightful visit to Slice of Life Pizzeria. The trip was filled with good stories, a few flying chicken wings and a lot of laughs! We left the pizzeria with full hearts and even fuller bellies.
Meanwhile, or Assisted Living residents embarked on an enriching trip to the West Pasco Historical Museum. The visit was a journey through time, as residents explored exhibits showcasing the rich history of our area. Mark, our activities coordinator, found his phot in one of the yearbooks at the historical society. To everyone’s surprise, Judy’s son’s picture was only three pictures away from Marks picture in the yearbook. This serendipitous discovery added a personal touch to the day’s adventures.
After soaking in the historical ambiance, the group headed to Sasha’s in the historic Hacienda Hotel for a delicious lunch. The elegant setting of the hotel, combined with a delectable menu, provided the perfect end to a day of discovery and camaraderie.
These outings are more than just trips; they are opportunities for our residents to connect with the community, learn new things, and create lasting memories. We are committed to offering a variety of activities that enrich the lives of our residents and foster a sense of adventure and engagement.
Looking ahead, our next outing will be a special joint trip to a movie theater, where out activities department is renting out the entire theater for a private screening. This promises to be a fantastic experience, bringing together our Memory Care and Assisted Living residents for a fun filled day at the movies.

A Day of Fun and Festivities

A Day of Fun and Festivities

On July 5th our community came alive with a spectacular Independence celebration, bringing together family and friends of our residents for a day filled with joy and festivity.
Our event featured a veritable buffet of classic American favorites, including an assortment of delicious homemade cookies that satisfied every sweet tooth.
A highlight of the event was the blow up water slide and bounce house, providing endless fun and a refreshing escape from the summer heat.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, we had DJ Mark spinning upbeat tunes that kept everyone dancing and enjoying music. To top it off, there were sno cones in a variety of flavors, offering a cool treat that was perfect for the warm weather.
We are already looking forward to our next family event, a tropical luau on August 29th. The luau promises to be an exciting affair with a hula dancer, delicious, food, and the enchanting sounds of a steel drum. Mark your calendars and don your grass skirt!
Thank you to everyone who make our 5th of July celebration such a success! We can’t wait to create more wonderful memories with you and your families at our upcoming events!

Protecting Devices and Cybersecurity

In today’s digital age, technology plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life of our residents. From keeping in touch with family, through video calls to letting residents know about upcoming activities, the benefits are immense. However, with increased connectivity comes the responsibility of ensuring cybersecurity to protect information and maintain privacy.
Cyber threats can range from malware and phishing attacks to identity theft and data breaches. Malware includes viruses and spyware that can infiltrate devices, while phishing attacks often appear as legitimate emails or messages designed to steal personal information. Understanding these threats is the first step in safeguarding against them.
Some good cybersecurity practices are using a strong password, installing updates which often times include patches for security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by cybercriminals and using antivirus software.
Once a month we provide residents with technical support to help them navigate their devices safely. This includes assistance with setting up security features, troubleshooting issues and education about ongoing cybersecurity threats.
