Resident of the Month
Chuck Lindsey
Chuck originated from Fyffe, Alabama, where he spent his formative years on a farm during the challenging times of the Depression era. Born on July 18, 1936, Chuck was the youngest of three children. Following his graduation from an agriculture school, he initially worked in the cotton fields before assisting his parents with their poultry farm. Later, he moved with his older brother but faced challenges securing employment due to his age. At 18, he was drafted into the US Air Force and received training in Wyoming before being stationed at Perrin Air Force Base in Texas and later in Japan for three years. In Japan, he met his wife, Katie (Shige), who was the base commander’s secretary. Their marriage took place at the U.S embassy in Japan, and they have three sons. Upon returning to the US, they settled in Chattanooga, TN. Chuck dedicated 35 years to Cavalier Corporation, retiring as the Plant Superintendent. Post-retirement, he pursued a career as a truck driver for five years. Chuck enjoyed 63 years of marriage before eventually relocating back to Alabama to reside in a community. He finds joy in making new acquaintances, staying active, and taking leisurely walks around the community. Chuck’s devotion to the Alabama football team and his past involvement in coaching and volunteering for a baseball team are testament to his love for sports. He appreciates the culinary offerings and the welcoming staff in his community. We are proud to have Chuck as a part of Monark Grove Madison family.

Pray Every Day
OCTOBER
This day, Father,
may my eyes be opened
to see the beauty
in all that is ordinary – yet special –
around me.
May the glory of all that you have made
remind me of your presence
and lead me closer to you.
