Resident of the Month
Pat Pike
Congratulations to Monark Grove Greystone’s Resident of the Month, Pat Pike. Pat and her husband Bob moved to Monark Grove Greystone in August 2024. Pat has brought laughter and joy to the community and continues to spread her kindness to others daily.
Pat was born and raised in Troy Alabama. After graduating from Charles Henderson High School, she attended Troy University. In 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Rob. They just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary!
Pat and Bob have two children, Laura and Elliott. Laura and her husband Rob have three children, Reeves, Jack and Henry, and two grandchildren, Pike and Vince. Making Pat a great-grandmother. Elliott and his wife LeArden have two daughters, Emma Grace and Mary Laslie.
Pat was a high school teacher, where she taught business and math. She was the office manager for Bob‘s medical office in Huffman and for Elliott Construction Company in Cahaba Heights.
Over the years Pat served on the Vestry at All Saints Episcopal in Homewood, and later the Vestry at Trinity Episcopal in Clanton.
Pat taught sewing at Sew Bizz in Trussville and taught customers how to use the Embroidery software. When she moved into Monark Grove Greystone, Pat was gracious enough to donate sewing machines, an embroidery machine, a serger, a heat press and many other “crafty” items for residents to use. (With the understanding that she would have to teach the residents how to use the equipment, because the Activity Director has NO idea how to even turn them on.)
Pat is a great teacher and has helped residents learn to use the sewing and embroidery machines. She volunteers her time to do arts and craft projects and always brings laughter and joy to these groups.
Pat says her grands are her heart!
