Rick

Born in Tulsa OK, Rick moved around a lot as a kid as his father worked for the government.  Many years later he finished high school and attended Northeastern University in Boston.   It was here he was able to work for two months and go to school for two months until he finished his degree.
After graduation Rick went into the Army for four years, which is how he meet his wife from Vietnam.

Rick is a lifelong learner and very much enjoys the Atlas Around the world.  In his down time, he likes to read, travel and watch TV.  His family is his pride and joy with three children and 6 grandchildren.

Italian Tradition

Alexa, play“Vivaldi’s Four Seasons”

Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741), “Il Prete Rosso” (The Red Priest) due to his red hair and clerical status, was a Venetian composer, virtuoso violinist, and a key figure of the Baroque era. His innovative compositions and extraordinary violin skills earned him a reputation as one of the most celebrated musicians of his time.

Vivaldi composed over 500 concertos, more than 230 for solo violin, making him one of the most prolific composers for the instrument. The Four Seasons is his most famous work; his music legacy has inspired musicians over the centuries. The Four Seasons was composed around 1721 and published in 1725 in Amsterdam.

Dear Families and Residents,

As we welcome another season, I want to take a moment to share some important updates and express my gratitude for being a part of our wonderful community. Your continued trust and partnership mean the world to us, and we are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all of our residents.

Ongoing Care and Support:

In our Assisted Living community, we strive to provide each resident with the best care possible while maintaining their independence and dignity. Our dedicated team continues to focus on personalized care plans, and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made in meeting the unique needs of each individual. Whether it’s assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, or simply providing companionship, we are here to support every step of the way.

Exciting Upcoming Programs:

In the coming weeks, we have several exciting activities and initiatives that will bring even more joy and enrichment to our residents’ lives:

1. Wellness and Fitness Programs: We are introducing new wellness initiatives to help our residents stay active and engaged. From chair yoga to gentle stretching sessions, these programs are designed to promote physical and mental well-being in a fun and supportive environment.

2. Community Connections: We understand the importance of staying connected, so we are planning family gatherings, pet visits, and even intergenerational activities that allow our residents to bond with younger generations. We have added Jessie’s Box, a toy collection for foster children. These connections bring great joy and can improve emotional well-being.

3. Alexa Speak2: We continue to work with Alexa to upgrade our community’s experience with Speak2. Reminder: Ask Alexa for help in the process of pushing a pendent or addition. Alexa can ask the question you need answered and get you the help you desire. Try today—say, “Alexa, I need help.”

4. Family Engagement: We recognize that family plays a vital role in the well-being of our residents. To ensure everyone stays involved, we will offer monthly family meetings to keep you informed on your loved one’s care, progress, and any new initiatives in our community and have some fun with one another.

A Safe and Welcoming Environment:

We continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents. Our team is constantly adapting our procedures to follow the latest health and safety guidelines, ensuring that everyone can feel secure while enjoying a sense of normalcy. We also encourage open communication, so if there are any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our staff.

Thank you for the trust you place in us each day. It’s an honor to care for your loved ones, and we are committed to creating a warm, supportive environment that enhances their quality of life. We look forward to the many opportunities ahead to make our Assisted Living community even more special.

Warmly,

Laura Blakeman

The Renaissance

(Amazing Facts)

The Renaissance wasn’t born overnight—it floated in with Venetian merchants! Their wealth fueled artists like Titian, whose vibrant colors and bold brushwork lit up the art world. Venice’s success was built on silk, spices, and salt, bridging East and West in a golden age of trade. From Marco Polo’s voyages to Venetian glass, this city redefined commerce and culture.
