We are excited to announce that we have provided all of our residents an Alexa Show device. The Alexa can be used to get content, such as the menu and activity calendar, as well as make phone calls and lots of other fun things. Over time, we will have Alexa be a tool we use for staff and residents to communicate directly, triage requests and place orders. Great Smoky Mountains

National Park

The most visited National Park
in the United Estates

What makes the Smoky Mountains smokey? The mist is formed from the vapor given off by all the plants in the mountains. When the vapor is released, the molecules that make up the gas scatter blue light from the sky, giving the fog its blue color.

Cades Cove

This beautiful misty mountain
valley is perhaps the most
popular spot in the park with its historic cabins, abundant wildlife, including black bears. The fall is the best time to visit providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and some of the best fall foliage found anywhere in the world.

Clingmans Dome

At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Tennessee. On clear days you can see over 100 miles in any direction. The highest peak in the park is easy to access for visitors of all ages and abilities and a must for any visit

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!! We all start the new year out with big plans on resolutions. This year I would like to challenge everyone to look at the goals for the year a little differently. Look for making the world a better place for you and yours to be in. We have power over our thoughts, actions, and our words.

Here are a few examples of 2024 goals that will make our world a better place:

• Complement at least one person a day.
• Catch yourself gossiping and STOP.
• Random acts of kindness—it costs nothing!!
• Do an activity or go someplace you have never been.
• Volunteer your time doing something you love.
• Every night write down one thing you are grateful for.
• Talk to YOURSELF with kindness.
• Drink more water.
• Start to write your life story.
• Make a new friend.
• Start a new hobby.
• Write a letter to someone that matters to you.

We are so easily distracted by what we feel we should be doing or what we thought we should be doing that we forget to take a moment and have fun! So, this January let’s all have a little fun! Let’s remember to be kind and cherish all the fun moments we can!!

Wellness Workplace

Wellness Workplace

Happy New Year! We have been a busy bunch last month. Shelbie and the residents in memory care finally got all their stockings done and hung by their doors and Santa Claus did a great job filling them up. Even I was lucky enough to get one too! We are thankful that last month we had one of our own caregivers, Haley, get promoted to Activities Assistant!

Congratulations from all of us in Assisted Living and Memory Care! The staff had their holiday party on the 13th, and everyone had a great time! I want to thank Trilogy Home Health, Mederi Caretenders, Amedisys Home Health, Patient’s First Home Health, Guardian Pharmacy, and Bluestone Physician Group for the donations to the employee holiday party. Trina with Trilogy Home Health was in on the 14th and had our holiday photos taken for anyone who wanted them done. Thanks Trina and we’ll be ready for the next picture time which will be for Easter. We had a couple trips last month. We had a mystery ride for the memory care residents. For those that wanted to go, they went to the Venice Jetty and back. The AL residents went and saw the Venice High Jazz Band perform on the 14th. For those that don’t know, I used to be in the Venice High Symphonic and Marching Band. I used to play the trumpet. Hoping to go with the residents on the next outing to the high school.

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Have a great New Year!Sean Krasensky RNWellness Director

Business Office Oracle

Wishes for everyone to have a great holiday season from the desk of our Business Office HR Director.

I cannot believe that the new year is upon us. I hope that everyone has been enjoying all of the fun festivities that the Goldton at Venice has to offer.

I have had many years of experience working in the financial industry as well as a Dining Director and a Med- Tech in other independent and assisted living communities in both Maine and Florida. The Goldton is right on the top with the beauty of the rooms and the amenities that are offered.

Please welcome Suzanne, the newest member of the Goldton at Venice Concierge team. She is learning our systems very quickly and already is proving to be a good asset to the team. You may even see her leading an art class or two. For years Suzanne owned and operated her own art studio.

Exciting news from the Goldton Concierge Desk. On the Independent side the mailboxes will be up and running very soon. The beautiful ladies on the overnight concierge shift will be sorting and placing the mail into everyone’s mailbox so that the mail will be available to you in the morning.I am very enthusiastic about my work. I love to meet new people and learn about their lifelong journeys, history, and achievements.

I enjoy helping residents with their business needs and assisting the staff with any questions and concerns to make their home away from home an enjoyable one daily. I look forward to seeing everyone smile as you pass by the concierge desk every day. I like
