Executive Director’s Corner

Lorenzo Dorse, Executive Director | The Goldton at Southaven

Welcome to all our residents, families, and visitors! We have been enjoying the warm weather as many of the residents enjoying sitting out enjoying the breeze in the evening hours!

I want to send huge congratulations to our employee of the month LaKyra Vaughn and resident of the month Paul Fagnant. Two amazing individuals who I’m honored to say are apart of The Goldton Community!!
As you all know, Independence Day is July 4th but even though it’s in the middle of the week doesn’t mean we don’t have activities planned around that day!! We also have our Family Night coming up July 11th where you will get a chance to meet our new Nurse Practitioner Amber Hill, foot care doctor Michael King, and social worker

Local State Park

Our resident was fortunate enough to visit our state local park for a picnic. The park was beautiful with plenty of lakes and fishing spots. Although we did not get a chance to fish the fresh air and breeze was awesome. The residents enjoyed sitting under the pavilion having conversations and reminiscing about their childhood days. The conversations were breathtaking, they talked about how they would swim in the lakes with no lifeguards, just a sibling, neighbors, or a cousin. Hearing them talk about how brave they were back in the days and were not scared of anything and so afraid of a little bug was hilarious. We had a wonderful time at Wall Doxey State Park and cannot wait to visit again.
