Here YE Here YE!

We want to capture the special memories of our residents. To capture these memories, we are starting a scrapbooking group in our community. Therefore, we need your help with donations of scrapbooking supplies to help us get started and make this goal possible. Thank you in advance!

Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Scotland

“Or, a lion rampant Gules armed and langued Azure within a double tressure flory counter-flory of the second”, meaning a red lion with blue tongue and claws on a yellow field and surrounded by a red double royal tressure flory counter-flory device.

Speak 2 is here!!

We are so excited to welcome our very own Alexa to our community, powered by Speak 2! Some great benefits that Alexa will bring to our residents is that residents can ask Alexa questions or give voice commands, making it easier to get information. Residents can also receive reminders about appointments, meals, or activities. Alexa can help them manage their daily routine, offering a greater sense of independence. Residents can make voice or video calls to family members and friends, fostering greater connection, please contact Deb at the community for more information. Residents can use voice commands to call for assistance which improves staff efficiency. Overall, this technological advancement, will bring our residents the benefit of increased independence, improved communication, staff efficiency, and enhanced social connection.

German Music Legacy

Alexa, play Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4, BWV 1049, Allegro

This concerto is full of life and beauty, with the flute, violin, and harpsichord leading the orchestra in joyful dialogue. At the time, Bach often directed the ensemble from the harpsichord, but he was also one of the most skilled violinists of his era. You can easily imagine him conducting from the harpsichord with a violin in hand—an image that perfectly captures the spirit of this vibrant masterpiece.

Welcome to Germany
Around the World with Atlas

Germany’s history stretches back to ancient tribes such as the Saxons, Franks, and Goths, whose resilience left a mark on Europe’s foundations. From the crowning of Charlemagne in 800 AD to the rise of the Holy Roman Empire under Otto I, the medieval period saw the growth of a diverse cultural and political landscape. Moments of transformation, like Martin Luther’s Protestant Reformation, sparked new ideas that influenced the world far beyond Germany’s borders.

In the centuries that followed, the rise of Prussia and the eventual German unification in 1871 brought together a patchwork of regions into a modern and power nation.

Though the 20th century was marked by hardship and division, after two awful wars, Germany was in ruin and divided by a wall, years of division goes by until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the re-unification of Germany opened the path to a new chapter. Today, Germany stands as a symbol of resilience and renewal—celebrated for its music, philosophy, literature, and innovations, as well as its role as a cultural and economic leader in Europe.

Fall Carnival

Carnival

We are celebrating Fall with our second annual Fall Carnival! Come October 25th from 11-1 to enjoy games, music, face painting, food, and more! You don’t want to miss this opportunity to celebrate fall with our community. See you there!

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

From October 1st to October 31st, we will be recognizing and honoring those who are battling Breast Cancer as well as those we have lost. The iconic pink ribbon was established in 1992 and became a symbol for the national movement! Breast Cancer is one of the world’s most common cancers and all individuals are encouraged to get their yearly mammograms because early detection is a gamechanger as there is a 99% 5-year survival rate if caught with early detection screening. In the United States, Breast Cancer Awareness Day is celebrated on October 13th, please join us that day in wearing PINK, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The Valknut

The Valknut

The Valknut, a symbol of three interlocked triangles, is tied to Odin in Norse mythology. Found on ancient stones and artifacts, it represents the mysteries of life, death, and the warrior’s passage to the afterlife, other schoolars sugest that the 9 points/intersections represent the 9 worlds in the Norse Mythology and how they are some how interconected.
