National Diabetes Care and Education Week | November 2-8

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Join us for our Thanksgiving Brunch!

We are so excited to welcome our very own Alexa to our community, powered by Speak 2! Some great benefits that Alexa will bring to our residents is that residents can ask Alexa questions or give voice commands, making it easier to get information. Residents can also receive reminders about appointments, meals, or activities. Alexa can help them manage their daily routine, offering a greater sense of independence. Residents can make voice or video calls to family members and friends, fostering greater connection, please contact Deb at the community for more information. Residents can use voice commands to call for assistance which improves staff efficiency. Overall, this technological advancement, will bring our residents the benefit of increased independence, improved communication, staff efficiency, and enhanced social connection.

Australian Joy

Alexa, play Down Under, by Men at work.

Released in 1981, “Down Under” quickly became a defining song of Australian identity. With its catchy flute riff and witty lyrics, it celebrates the country’s laid-back spirit, humor, and pride. More than a global hit, it remains an unofficial anthem—an upbeat tribute to Australia’s culture, people, and sense of adventure.

World Alzheimer's Awareness Month

This month, we honor the millions of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. At The Goldton at Jones Farm, we stand in support of the awareness, education, and compassionate care that comes with Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is not just a memory disease, as it affects relationships, independence, and daily life. By recognizing this month, we shine a light on early detection, person-centered care, and the need for ongoing research and support. #AlzheimersAwarenessMonth

Welcome to Australia
Around the World with Atlas

Australia, the world’s largest island and smallest continent, is a land of striking contrasts—from its vast deserts and tropical rainforests to its bustling coastal cities. Indigenous Australians have lived on the continent for over 60,000 years, developing rich spiritual traditions and deep connections to the land. Their art, music, and stories remain an essential part of the nation’s cultural identity today.

European settlement began in 1788 with the arrival of the First Fleet from Britain, marking the start of Australia’s colonial era. British influence shaped the nation’s language, institutions, and political systems, though this period also brought immense hardship to Indigenous communities. Over time, Australia evolved from a collection of colonies into a unified federation in 1901, forging its own democratic and multicultural identity.

Modern Australia is known for its relaxed lifestyle, love of the outdoors, and vibrant cultural mix. From iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Uluru to its world-class art, music, and sport, the country reflects both its ancient heritage and modern dynamism—a place where tradition and innovation coexist under the southern sun.

Veterans Day- November 11th!

We are having a special ceremony for our beloved veterans! Our community has military representation of the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard. We honor and recognize our Veterans’ sacrifice for our country, and we want to thank them for all they have done!

National Diabetes Care & Education Week | November 2-8

National Diabetes Care and Education Week is observed annually during the first full week of November. This week is dedicated to raising awareness about diabetes and prediabetes, promoting education around prevention, management, and treatment, supporting diabetes care, and education specialist, and highlighting the importance of lifestyle changes and early detection. Our community cares for many of those affected by diabetes, and we take this week to acknowledge the importance of the care and education that comes with taking care of a loved one with diabetes.
