Stan Stanford

Stan Stanford was born December 10, 1950, to the parents of Roberta and Guy Stanford in Pettusville, Alabama. Mr. Stan was born third of his four brothers in which three of them are still living. Mr. Stan attended Elkmont High School. After graduating he enrolled into the Army National Guard where he served our country for six years as an E4. Mr. Stan met his lovely wife while dating her sister. Later Mr. Stan and Shelia were married May 28, 1977, their union was blessed with one son and two grandsons. One of his grandsons followed in his footsteps and became a pilot and his other grandson became a doctor. Mr. Stan worked for GM for 25 years where he retired as a welder in Kentucky. He then kept his lifelong promise to his wife to move back to Alabama. Mr. Stan is a devout member of The Church of Christ. Mr. Stan stated, “I like The Goldton at Athens because it’s a good place to be and the team here treat me well, they are all good people”.
