Resident of the Month

Mr. John Washington was born February 14, 1944, in Bethel, Tennessee to the parents of Jeneal and Booker T. Washington. Mr. Washington was raised with 5 siblings, (1) brother and (4) sisters. The family moved to Elkmont, Tennessee when he was 7 years old. He attended Trinity High School in Athens, Alabama. After high school Mr. Washington started working for Fruehauf where he worked for 22 years. He then attended mechanic school, afterwards he worked as a mechanic for 12 years, he then started driving trucks for 10 years. He finally retired from his own mechanic shop. John was married 6 times, but his last wife JoAnn Rice they met at a football game and dated for a year before getting married in 2012. Mr. Washington has 5 children (1) daughter and (4) boys. Mr. John Washington’s religion of choice is Church of Christ. Mr. John says he likes living here at The Goldton at Athens because of the upkeep of the community and the man amenities that is offered.
