Melody Floyd

Executive Director

Melody Floyd is the Executive Director at Tribute at Black Hill, bringing heart, experience, and purpose to everything she does. Her journey into senior living began in 2010 after a career pivot that ultimately led her to the role she had always envisioned, Executive Director. What started as a calling quickly became a lifelong passion.

Originally from Connecticut, Melody’s path has taken her across the country, attending college in both Oklahoma and Phoenix. Those experiences, combined with diverse professional roles in marketing, dining services, resident engagement, and operations, shaped her holistic approach to leadership and deepened her love for senior living. This well-rounded foundation proved invaluable when she officially stepped into the Executive Director role in 2022.

Melody is known for her proven track record in state compliance, strengthening operations, fostering associate retention, and maintaining open, transparent communication with residents, families, and team members. She believes strong communities are built on trust, collaboration, and consistency and she leads with those principles every day.

Outside of work, Melody enjoys scuba diving, gardening, cooking, spending time with family, cruising in her Jeep Wrangler, and soaking up time at the beach whenever possible. Her curiosity and appreciation for people naturally extend into her professional life, where she finds joy in learning the stories, wisdom, and history of the older adults she serves.

For Melody, serving as an Executive Director is more than a career; it is a gift. Each day brings new opportunities to lead with compassion, purpose, and gratitude in a community she is proud to call home.

Michiko Honda

Health & Wellness Director

Some careers are chosen. Others are called. For Michiko Honda, nursing was a promise — a sacred vow made as a young girl after watching her mother suffer in silence. She lost her mother far too soon, but gained an unshakable purpose: no one in her care would ever feel neglected, forgotten, or unloved.

Over the past 27 years, Michiko has transformed that promise into a life’s work. From the fast-paced corridors of the University of Maryland Medical Center to the intimate setting of skilled rehabilitation and assisted living, she has honed a mastery of infection control, staff development, and quality assurance — but her true gift is compassion. To Michiko, every resident is a living story deserving of dignity, safety, and genuine connection. Her leadership is not just about directing care, but about raising standards, inspiring teams, and healing with humanity. She reminds everyone around her that excellence in nursing begins and ends with empathy. She often reflects, “Compassion isn’t something you add to care — it’s the heart of care itself.”
