Patricia \"Pat\" Wink<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This month, we are delighted to shine the Resident Spotlight on one of the wonderful members of the Wildcat Senior Living family, Patricia \u201cPat\u201d Wink!
Pat was born in July 1948 in Alpha, Minnesota, a tiny town of only about 150 people. In fact, Pat was reportedly the 151st person born in this little Midwestern community! Her mother, Geneva, was a wartime bride from South Dakota, and her father, Boyd, was a semi-truck driver who later became a manager of a grain elevator. Pat grew up with her brother, Michael, who still lives in South Dakota.
Although Pat considers herself a true Midwest country girl, much of her life was spent in cities. She married her husband in 1968, and together they eventually moved to Northern Virginia, where they spent an incredible 45 years. They have one son, Darren, who now lives in Summerville, and one grandson, Sam, who is 15.
Pat has certainly lived an interesting and adventurous life! Her career experiences have included working in hospital laboratories and doctors\u2019 offices, managing apartments, accounting, and spending approximately 10 years in residential real estate sales before retiring. She has always enjoyed staying busy and learning new things.
One of Pat\u2019s favorite places is Virginia, largely because of her love for history. She also enjoys spending time at the beach whenever she gets the opportunity. If Pat could choose anywhere in the world to live, she says she would happily settle down somewhere right on the beach! And when it comes to food, seafood is definitely at the top of her list.
Pat has also always had a special love for animals. Her pets have ranged from ferrets to even a python! One of her most memorable pets was her beloved dog, Bert. Pat originally purchased Bert thinking he was a Boston Terrier, only to discover on the drive home that he was actually a Beagle! It sounds like Bert knew exactly where he belonged.
When Pat has some downtime, you can usually find her reading, watching movies, or playing Rummikub whenever she gets the chance. One of her favorite movies is Same Time, Next Year, a classic she has enjoyed over the years.
Pat\u2019s journey to Wildcat was an adventure in itself. She came to Wildcat sight unseen, with the largest suitcase in hand! Thankfully, she quickly discovered that Wildcat was a place she could call home. Today, she loves living here and has become a cherished part of our community.
Pat is a wonderful resident with a fascinating life story, a great sense of humor, and plenty of memories to share. We are so happy she chose Wildcat as her home and are grateful for the joy and personality she brings to our community each day.
