We want to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent “Friends and Family Events”! Your presence truly made our Grandparents Day Carnival, our Wild, Wild West Friends and Family dinner, and our different Assisted Living Week festivities, special and memorable.

These gatherings are a wonderful reminder of the strong bonds we share within our community. We are grateful for your enthusiasm, laughter, and the joy you bring to our events. Your participation not only enriches our experiences but also strengthens our sense of family here at Wildcat Senior Living.

Where in the World of National Parks is

Chef Eileen?!

Kaylee PaWildcat Senior Living took a tour into the Rocky Mountains! Together, we explored the flora, fauna, history, and culture of The Rocky Mountain National Park. Chef Eileen surprised everyone with a cooking demo and tasty treat of Bison Burgers!

Here are some fun facts about the Rocky Mountains:

Age of the Rockies: The Rocky Mountains are around 80 million years old, making them one of the oldest mountain ranges in North America!

Diverse Ecosystems: The Rockies boast diverse ecosystems, from alpine tundra to lush forests, home to over 1,000 plant species and countless animal species, including elk, bears, and mountain goats.

National Parks Galore: There are several stunning national parks in the Rockies, including Rocky Mountain National Park, Glacier National Park, and Yellowstone, each offering breathtaking views and accessible trails.

Highest Peak: The tallest peak in the Rocky Mountains is Mount Elbert in Colorado, which stands at 14,440 feet. It’s a popular destination for hikers looking for a challenge!

Hot Springs: The Rockies are home to numerous natural hot springs, such as those in Glenwood Springs and Pagosa Springs, perfect for relaxing and soothing tired muscles.

Historic Trails: The Rocky Mountains were a significant part of the westward expansion in the 1800s. Trails like the Oregon Trail and the Santa Fe Trail traversed this majestic region, rich in history.

ez is the new Sales Counselor at Wildcat! Kaylee has over 7 years of marketing and senior care experience combined. Kaylee earned a bachelor’s degree in public health from Charleston Southern University and a master’s degree in digital marketing communications from West Viriginia University. Kaylee is particularly drawn to the opportunity to be a part of the Wildcat team because of the commitment to provide compassionate care and enriching the lives of the residents. She also takes pride in the ability to provide personalized guidance to individuals and families as they navigate the transition to senior living communities.

Beyond Kaylee’s professional endeavors, her greatest joy comes from spending time with her wonderful family. Kaylee finds herself fortunate to have an amazing husband, a one-year-old daughter, and two fur babies (a Boxer and an English Bulldog) who inspire her every day. In addition to family time, Kaylee is passionate about college football and baking.

Kaylee is thrilled to be part of the Wildcat team where she looks forward to leveraging her skills and passion to contribute to our collective success. Wellness and fitness tips from and for our Wildcat Seniors!

1. **Stay Active**

Recipe Spotlight:

Fall Chicken Skillet

Fall Chicken Skillet

Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb chicken breasts, cubed
Salt & pepper
4 tbsp Garlic Butter
2-3 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
1 butternut squash, cubed
1 onion, sliced
2 Granny Smith apples, cubed
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup chicken broth, divided
2 oz crumbled bacon

Directions:
Cook seasoned chicken in olive oil until browned, set aside. In the same pan, melt Garlic Butter and sauté Brussels sprouts, squash, and onion for 8-10 minutes. Add apple, thyme, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup broth, cook until broth evaporates.

Stir in remaining broth and chicken, then garnish with bacon. Serve. Take off the heat, and garnish with crumbled bacon. Serve.

Dorothy Noblett

Dorothy Noblett Resident of the Month

Ms. Dorothy ‘Dot’ Noblett was the youngest of 11 children born in 1930 in a small western Kentucky town. Dorothy never considered any of those facts be a drawback, instead she loves talking about her roots and raisings. She used them to become the caring, generous, hardworking, fun-loving mother from whom her 3 children learned (and are still learning) life skills.
Dorothy was the first in her family to graduate from college and later went on to get her master’s degree in education. She taught school for almost 50 years, and then even participated in substitute teaching after retiring. She loves to talk about her time at Western Kentucky University and so proud of being a Hilltopper!

She married her childhood neighbor Robert but widowed too early at age 51. She may be proudest of being Grandma Dot to her 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy came from a family of naturally talented musicians and loves playing the piano. With her faith being her foundation, she loves playing hymns but can also break out a good ‘boogie woogie’ tune.

She never turned down a new adventure from horseback riding at Calloway Gardens, canoeing on the Harpeth River to Ghost Tours in Savannah and traveling to Israel, Europe and Hawaii.

She didn’t think twice about going on road trips with her sister-in- law Bobbie or her best friend Maxine traveling down Route 66 and the eastern sea coast.

One of her favorite sayings as she started her ‘golden years’ was ‘Growing old is not for sissies.’

Dorothy continues to show daily exactly what she is made of! We have loved having her and her family as part of our very own Wildcat Family and look forward to many more adventures and memories!

Deborah Page Associate of the Month

Hello, let me first introduce myself! I’m Deborah, and I’m new here at Wildcat! I’ve been here for about a month now, and I am very excited to be a part of this community!

I previously worked in other healthcare communities, and I have worn several different hats: from housekeeping, to caregiving, and even a chef! I have enjoyed every hat I’ve worn, but I’m more passionate about caring for our elderly residents.

Someone once told me that our senior citizens are like books filled with wisdom, knowledge, and history. From my years of caring for them with love and respect, I’ve got to say, they were absolutely right! So regardless of whatever hat I’m wearing, I hope that love, compassion, and respect will flow from me.

Thank you to all of our residents, family members, and team members for accepting me, helping me, and for all the generosity they’ve shown. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and helping out any way I can. I’m very grateful to God for placing me at Wildcat. If you need anything, just let me know!

The Wildcat family welcomes Debbie to the team and looks forward to caring and loving on all Wildcat residents together!
