I was born and raised in California as one of three sisters. At age 15, I began working as the “chief dish and bottle washer” cleaning test tubes and Petri dishes at a medical laboratory. That early experience eventually led me to become a nurse. Throughout my nursing career, I worked in hospitals, a tuberculosis sanatorium, and public health.

I married my wonderful husband, and we shared 58 beautiful years together. For 25 years, we owned and operated a fitness and spa center. After retiring, I soon “unretired” and spent another 22 years supporting military families who wanted guidance and encouragement with their parenting skills. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Heavenly Father has blessed me with a loving daughter and son-in-law who live nearby, as well as three truly “grand” grandchildren all engineers or engineers-to-be!

I enjoy classical and semi-classical music, musicals, singing, oil painting, drawing, fishing and hiking. I played the violin for four years until my teacher told my father he was wasting his money! I also love dancing, including the foxtrot, waltz, polka, two-step and swing. If there is a dance to try, I am willing to give it a chance! Pickleball is next on my list of things to learn.

Bible study has been life-changing for me, and I never seem to get enough of it. It has carried me through both joyful and difficult times and opened my eyes to the blessings and miracles happening around me each day. One of those blessings is the opportunity to live in a community filled with caring residents and staff. For that, I am extremely grateful.
