Karen is a single mother and has a 5-year-old son named Gael.<br \/>While in Mexico, Karen finished her bachelor\u2019s degree in education with a master\u2019s degree in educational management. She had the opportunity of teaching kindergarten for 4 years, which she absolutely loved. In her free time, she enjoys baking and pastry.<br \/>Karen currently works at Madison Heights and Kelley Place as well as at a local Mexican restaurant. She says that she loves working at Madison Heights and Kelley Place and that despite her not being prominent in speaking or understanding English, everyone has welcomed her with open arms and open minds and have been very nice to her. Karen says that working with the residents has taught her to live life to the fullest every day and to be kind to ourselves as well as to others.
