Amber is 44 years old and was born and raised in Enterprise, AL where she and her family currently reside. Amber is happily married to her husband, Travis, and they have 4 beautiful children. Amber is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. Amber began caring for her grandparents when she was 25 years old and from then she has enjoyed caring for and loving geriatrics. Amber says she loves working with the elderly because it is a true gift and such a joy and a pleasure to be able to do so. Amber has been a care associate at Madison Heights and Kelley Place for over 2 years. When it comes time to hire a caregiver for your loved one, it’s not as easy as most people may think. While you, the family, as well as your loved one will need support, the caregiver that is chosen to care for your loved one will need support as well. There are many resources for family caregivers. Some of those include The National Alliance of Caregiving, the Caregiver Action Network. They are both national organizations that offer support. The American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer’s Association are also some organizations that provide information for caregivers. Local hospitals may also offer support groups. The National Family Caregiver Support Program provides grants to states and territories to help family caregivers care for older adults at home. Veterans may be eligible for this program if they meet certain criteria, such as having a service-connected disability rating of 70% or more.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Walking is also a fantastic low-impact exercise that boosts heart health, improves blood circulation, and helps maintain a healthy weight. Lemon Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients:<\/strong>
1 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp grated lemon zest
2 cups fresh Louisiana strawberries, sliced
2\u00bc cups sugar
1 tbsp flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell<\/p>

Directions:<\/strong>
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. In a small mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries with \u00be cup sugar, stir, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. This should be done at least 6 hours prior to serving. In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining sugar, flour and salt. Blend well. Add eggs and egg yolks, and using a wire whisk, cream into sugar mixture. Once blended, add buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and zest. Whisk well to incorporate and dissolve sugar. Pour into pie shell and place on a cookie sheet. Bake 50 minutes or until pie is lightly browned and filling is just set. Remove and cool a minimum of 30 minutes prior to serving. Top each slice with a generous portion of sugared strawberries.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Mrs. Helen Smith was born on August 10th, 1932, in Collinsville, Illinois. Her father was of German descent and mother was Italian. She is the oldest of four children, and the only daughter.
She has had a variety of jobs including nurse\u2019s aide at Chanute air force base during the Korean War. It was there that Helen became a registered nurse. In later years she enjoyed waitresses work and became an accountant for a large natural gas company.
Helen was married to her first husband in 1950. They had three sons. She later married her second husband in 1960.
In 1971 they were living in Bremerton, Washington. During that time, Helen became very active in Westside Baptist Church and would transfer the sermons to sign language for the hearing impaired.
In 1995 Helena and her family moved back to Alabama and enjoyed many years sharing music with friends at our residence. Her husband built a large building which housed a large variety of instruments. Friends would gather each weekend for hours of bluegrass music and festivities.
In February of 2023, Helen became a resident of Kelly Place. We are blessed to have Helen as part of our family at MHKP. She is a joy to all.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
