Betty Scofield<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Betty Holloway Scofield was born December 27, 1939. She lived and grew up in the Beulah community just outside of Opp, Al. She married Billy Scofield on July 6, 1956 and they had three daughters, Jan Breedlove, Vickie Sumblin and Lisa Kyser. Billy and Betty were married for 65 years. Betty got her GED and also attend McArthur Technology College studying bookkeeping and accounting.
She worked for many years at O’Neal Accounting, and Edgar Trucking Company while also keeping up with all the activities for 3 girls and owning a family bakery business. Betty enjoyed sewing for her three girls when they were young, all three would be dressed alike for church. After she retired Betty became an avid golfer, playing in area tournaments with her lady golfer partners and also with her husband Billy. She also became very involved with all areas of First Baptist Church of Opp. Betty was the Attendance Secretary for 20 plus years while also leading the Benevolence committee for many years. Betty also worked and organized the food and refreshments during VBS for any years. She was not one to be still and loved assisting at the church in all areas. She was also very involved with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was one who went to all the games and dance recitals for them.
