She has been a cherished resident of Legacy Reserve at Fairview Park for about 1.5 months.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">Sarah is a retired opera singer with an incredible 40-year career. She has been blessed to sing all over the world and also graduated from Furman University in 1971. Sarah loves people \u2014 all kinds that are good!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What she enjoys most about living at Legacy is the love and care that is given to every single resident, no matter the need. She says all of the employees genuinely care about the residents. She also shared that her apartment is like a 5th Avenue penthouse, even though she has downsized tremendously!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLegacy feels special to me because I feel safe and comfortable here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One fun fact about Sarah is that she loves gardening!<\/p>\n<p>We are so lucky to have Sarah as part of our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. During high school, she was\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">head cheerleader and met the love of her life, Ron &#8220;Jazz&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">Makawicz. Her yearbook quote,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">&#8220;She has a thing for Jazz,<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">&#8221; proved\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">true, as the two married shortly after graduation and built a beautiful\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">life together, raising two daughters and a son.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">Determined to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, Marie worked<span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">as a school crossing guard and bus driver while continuing her\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">education. Her dedication led her to become both an LPN and later\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">a Registered Nurse. Throughout her nursing career, including her\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">work in hospice care, she touched countless lives with her\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">compassion and kindness.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">After moving to South Carolina, Marie continued to embrace life with\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">strength and resilience, even after the loss of her beloved husband of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">40 years. She enjoyed traveling with friends, visiting destinations\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">such as Italy, Alaska, and Ireland, along with many cruises and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">beach vacations.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">Since retiring in 2003, Marie has enjoyed spending time with her\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 21.6px;\">growing family.
